The next morning at Monkey Mia, another good Sunrise. Just like great motorcycle riding roads are created around Mountains, lakes and rivers, Sunsets and Sunrises look great with water.

    and the colors get better

The morning Dolphin feeding..... People lining the beach.

but what is cool, is that the Dolphins are seen all around when there are no crowds.

Met up with Rob (?) and Lisa whom I met on the Whale Shark swim. They are driving a van around OZ for 6 months!

after a walk along the beach enjoying the beauty of the oceans

Packed up and started riding South

Taking a few side tracks to see the ocean.

    then it turns to sand

    Beautiful

And just over this bay is the Western Most point in Australia. Steep Point.

riding south, there is more interesting bays

Then further down, another track that looked interesting

    Very cool shell beach

Taking a bit of time to smell the flowers and enjoy the view!

Even looking up, sets some great imagines in my mind.

Then back out to the main hwy

This is the turn off to ride the 140 KM to Steep Point. "useless Loop". Decided not to spend the time to ride the track all the way out to take a photo, then turn right around and ride back. "useless" won out.

    Then further on.

Love the shapes and beauty that the world around us holds.

I rolled down the West coast. Wow Perth is now only 500 KM away.... But still some places to stop and see. Kalbarri is know for it's cliff ...

Took too many photos at Pots Point!

On the road again riding south. the Kalbarri coastline is very rugged and beautiful

The terrain changes and green fields and some hills appear :D (have not ridden these in awhile)

Riding to Hutt River. The road trains kick up some dust!

Bit of an interesting history as I ride to the "principality of Hutt River".

He succeeded from Australia in 1970 after a dispute about Wheat Quota payments. He was very clever using the laws to remain an independent "nation". :deal

He has his own stamps, currency and government offices :lol3

As I ride south the temps are dropping, the clouds fill the sky and the road trains are getting smaller

One of the signs that has struck me is the fire warning signs. The category of "catastrophic" . After seeing some of teh country, you can see why fire, and wind can cause catastrophic consequences.

Had a little bit of rain as I rode along the Indian Ocean coast road to Cervantes. But it was the first rain in more than a month or two. :huh Did have to put on my top rain gear! All warm and dry.

As I ride south, thoughts of Cape Town, South Africa fill my head. Lots of details as I get ready to ship me and my bike to Africa. Will get bike serviced, new tires, shipping details finalized, my flights sorted and booked. ..... Just part of the entire experience of world travels!

as I have talked about often, the signs for wildlife crossing the road are everywhere. Crazy Emu's.... Watch out

Now just 200 KM north of Perth with one place to go have a look as I ride the Indian Ocean Road. That is Nambung National Park and the desert with the Pinnacles. It is amazing place with sandstone "pinnacles" in this sandy desert area. There is a 4 KM loop of packed sand through the park and a good interpretive center.

What no Jump. No.... Just did not feel like it today. But the Pinnacles were very cool.

Riding south.... Signs with more animals to watch out for :huh

along down the road as some little towns on the water. The sand is white and the waters blue and Turquois. Stunning

Continuing off down the hwy to Perth. Wow feels really great to have ridden across this amazing land and arrive at the point where I will be shipping out of!! After many weeks of little or no traffic, you get to the outside of Perth and there are people, cars, houses and buildings. Strange but really great!

Oh and more speed camera's in use :lol3

Arrived at Perth, and decided to to change out my worn out tyros. Stopped at Bike Doctor on the way into town and got straight in. Bit of a bummer as it was just raining a little and the guy said, just wheel your bike inside here to be out the rain. As I rolled my bike into the place my wide bags just clipped the taillight of an older Yamaha and shattered the tail light :eek1 Really felt bad as they told me the guy had been rebuilding it for 6 years :eek1 :cry and they called around and the part is no longer available. Yikes.. Feel really bad. They charged me $100 and hope the bloke can find a new lens. :deal

I pulled my wheels off and they fitted new gyres for me.

Then I arrived at RobBD's house in Perth area. He has been great as he contacted me very early in Australia and I was able to ship a bit if gear and straps etc to his house instead of carry it. Was great to finally meet Rob and Di! :clap :clap once again I have met some fabulous people who have generously hosted me!

    Radioman,
Great to hear you arrived safely in Perth. Dodged all the crazy Emu's and the tyre destroying Echidnas'. We were discussing the Pinaccles two months back. I rang a friend to organise a time to return his air cast, response " a little busy right now Rob just driving through the pinnacles" and now Radioman has just done the same. Many Aussies plan their whole life for a lap around the country and you have just knocked it off in passing, an adventurous feat well done.

Always looking forward to your next post.

    Cheers

    Rob A.

Thanks. It really felt great riding down the coast to Perth. I have been in Australia just over 3 months, ridden about 23,000 Km of this big country. I might not have ridden the hardest tracks or the most remote locations but this Has been a great adventure for sure. :deal

and thanks to the many generous an kind Australians that I have met, stayed with and become friends with along the way :clap :clap

About that shattered lens on that Yamaha; perhaps find out the specific model and year and post it up and someone might come up with the replacement lens.

    Cheers :freaky

Has been great meeting up with Rob and Di in Perth!

On the weekend, we met up with some other BMW club members before they rode north to Karijini area...

Did a bit of sightseeing around Perth.

And here is Davey.... With his mascot traveler

We stopped to see Rob's Mum, and have a cup of tea. They have an amazing collection of history.

It was a lifetime of collecting ....all on display. Was a real treat to get to see where his parents passions were.

Then we stopped in the town and watched the Targa racers at the pit stop

and a tour back through Perth

Then a quick wash of my bike..... to get ready for Service at BMW

Then down to Fremantle to check that out, and stop at Little Creatures brewery.
and a Tall ship that was in port

    And the local artwork...

This little girl was interested as we encouraged her to get in the photo

and some Colombian Dancers! They were glad I had visited their country

Then a look at the beach. Indianna Restaurant at Cottelsoe Perth

And another great day in Australia, with new friends!

Monday while my bike was being serviced. Needed a new clutch cable, and new front brake rotors as the floating rivets are really loose. then a full checkover.

I met John at the mine town of Tom Price. He took a photo of my bike, and then googled Radioman, and emailed me to offer accommodation and a chance to go for a ride. Had too many offers in Perth to be able to stay with everyone, but a chance to go ride off road on a smaller bike.... Oh Yea:clap

John showed up with a Honda Cr 500 two stroke and WR 450.

We road up to Jarrahdale and rode around the water reservoirs.

Just a great time on dirt roads, single track, bush wacking ! :evil

:wave Thanks John!! :clap Was great. Back in time to pick up my bike at the dealer!
