I really admire you for what you have done, both for your wife and on your bike. I to am in the midst of a career change and have had to *shudder* enter the job market once again ! I have been self employed for the last 14 years so it was a massive shock to the system.

You sound like the sort of person who will make the most of any opportunity that comes along and I look forward to hearing how you go.

    Blessings to you mate.

    Aaron.

If someone from the US is riding into canada , talk to your agent ! Evidently not all insurance covers you . Had a buddy get in a wreck in BC and lost his truck because his insurance was no good . Both in 87' and 2010 I double checked with my agent and was covered . Also carried the insurance through S.P.O.T. , $100,000 worth of medical transport insurance for $10 or so . Air ambulance rates are a bit higher than a city cab .

We had to get a Canadian insurance card for each bike ( no charge ) from our insurance company.

I thought for sure that our paths would cross along the way somewhere in this small world. I am sad to hear your second chapter is now closed.
But i hope to follow you in your next chapter to see how you adapt back in to the real world after traveling so extensively.........because i wonder that of myself when my money runs out and i have to join the game again.
That will be of great interest to me as i have become so God Damn Independent these days.

I thought our paths might cross as well...... They still might.

Will let you know. I had planned for a transition period, which I am in right now. No real news as I settle home and start exploring my options..... Not sure which direction I will go yet.....

    Stay tuned :D

Mark , was screwing around looking for a new job for you and thought this was right up your alley . http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tfr/4315511621.html Saw several jobs along those lines . No real travel but after traveling around the globe thought it might be interesting . Also saw several video production managers jobs . Does your brain hurt from thinking of the next move yet ? Good luck , hope things are going well .

The line one crosses when entering a new country or state is the border.

The person who skates, surfs, snowboards or for whom you provide room and board is a boarder.

I guess someone who tried to get on your bike without your permission would be a boarder as well.

Mark is a highly talented and creative person who has shot some good video and photos but a video production manager is a highly specific and much sought after job with very specific requirements. I have little doubt that he could do it but the learning curve might be more like a learning cliff.

    Hi Radioman and all.

After having been off the bike for a couple of years due to a bad back, and as a result staying away from everything related as it made the pain worse, I just found your RR and am only half way done, page 260. LOL

I must say I am very impressed, not only with the ride, but with you and your ability to "Just Do It!"

Having in the last 18 months, supported my wife as she dealt with her mothers alzheimer's disease and subsequent passing, I can only imagine the trials and pain you went through.

Keep the shinny side up and keep light blazing for others to follow.

    Lou
