Damn, sorry to hear it, but here's hoping for a quick recovery. Couldn't ride for a month (still have a recovering foot), and it sucked, now screwed my leg, although hopefully only 'downtime' of 2 weeks there.

Wow, is there really no 'ride' smiley here..eek! pretend I put one ...here... :-)

Yall gotta hear this,Ron calls yesterday morning to make riding plans,[we have never met by the way]he says he knows this great trail that links the small town of Maxton to Lumberton. We set a time and meeting place. Now I have lived and worked around Maxton my whole life and never heard of this trail. We meet at Hardees and he says come on I'll show you the trail head.He stops at the entrance to a cotton field and says here it is!.........Ron has been trespassing in a field of cotton that I planted!:rofl ...I could'nt believe that I have been working that land for 27years and did not know of that trail!Ron is a great guy to ride with, and I would like to thank him for the ride yesterday. We had a good afternoon of riding and broke nothing at all![Get well soon Dan]...................

That was fun, till I hit that rut, in a HUGE puddle, doing about 25 on the back wheel, Bike went sideways, upside down (well almost), about 3 foot in the air, heading for a pile of trash someone dumped....

    I need a new brake pedal :lol2.

Truckin',if you ask the squids on atv's,yes it is ok to ride through the middle of a planted field........Good news on the DR,you'll like it, after you get the death wings off of it,fiddle with the jetting alittle, and open the top of the airbox some.I'm running stock gearing and it worked fine for the conditions on the old "Lumberton to Maxton" trail and my Kenda 270's did well also.I thought me and the DR did really well seeing as though I'm almost 50 and the DR hits the scales at 300+.[Ron,I was not sore at all Sunday morning:clap ].I told Ron Sat. that I would put together one of my "find lunch by gps numbers" rides pretty soon.We will definitly include the "trail".I am going to research the background on that canal that the trail follows as it was man made.Be safe on your trip to Arizona.

    Hey gang,
Sorry I've been working too hard lately.
They "Boys" finally talked me into another overnight trip down to the 4500 acre wood.
Had a blast but only took a few pictures (Damned Yagerbombs)
And yes, the nightride was great. :freaky

Dave, sorry to hear about the foot. I know that feeling, when I broke mine in Lumberton, within the first 5 minutes, I never gave it another thought as we continued to ride for another 9 hours. Bad news is, I still feel it every now and then.

Found out today that the canal from Maxton to the Lumber river was dug in the late 60's early 70's.took 2 or three years to complete.Farmers along the route pushed the state for help draining that area to aid making the land workable.I think the Feds kicked in some also. The land that we work on the end of the trail is taxed an extra $140 a year that goes into a fund to maintain the canal.

Yo, Critter and Ron, hope you guys are doing well. I've not been riding in a while myself. Buddha(Richard) and I would like to get back together for a ride soon. Let us know if something comes up. We're still looking good trails in Clinton.
