If you find some let me know! I've been down towards White Lake on the State land quite a few miles of state dirt roads.

My favorite place to go drop my bike, and it is free. Also home to the Sandblast

Nobrakes, Trust and Tarheel Wheeler, thanks for the info on Tubliss. Sounds like it may not be worth the trouble and expense. And I read on the web site that the system is only for off-road... I ride my Beta a fair amount on the pavement getting from the house to dirt or on twisties in the mountains. Gonna have to try the trials tire next time at Brushy Mtn or Uwharrie. Thanks again.

    Happy New Year! :clap:clap

It was too bad. It started out cold but warmed up nicely. The sand out there was perfectly wet, so it made for great conditions. I actually worked up a sweat and had to remove layers. The DR is one heavy pig.

    Skools in session....

Anyone see this post by BC in the Sandblast Rally thread?

"Who would be interested in a rally riding clinic on Thursday prior to the rally? Riding tips, terrain reading tips, time keeping strategies and practice, practice, practice. Cost would be around $100 for the day. PM if interested"

Wowsers. He was venue shopping near Patrick. Too bad area 52 wasn't in the mix.

Hopefully ill be back in the spring. Had to take some time off. Had to pull the engine out of the 450 exc. Need to have the head done and a new timing chain installed. I have zero time to do this. Pulled the engine and its sitting in the garage. I'm in Cary and who do I want to work on this? Thanks guys.

Genuine Dirt Racer in North Wilkesboro. Bart and Ben are the best. They've worked on some of the best racers bikes. Highly recommend them.

    Yup. :deal

They are about 2.5-3 hours from you, but their shop rates are very reasonable and they are the only shop I'd trust to do any serious engine work. It's just not worth taking the chance with anyone else when you have those guys available. I wouldn't trust most dealerships to set the air pressure in my tires. GDR is more of a "racer support shop" and suspension experts and they tear down engines and rebuild them all the time. I can't imagine you won't be happy with their service. And price is reasonable.

I got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me my insurance lapsed :( had to call them and decided to take the bike down to renew it since it needed inspected anyhow. When I went to leave it wouldn't start! I keep it on a tender when not riding, which is pretty much all the time. Luckily there was a hill about 100' away so I got it started. Got it inspected and took it for about an hour ride. Hopefully I don't need a new battery.

Make sure your tender cycles off when battery is topped off. Is your battery maintenance free? Some tenders will cook off the fluid in a battery as well. Check the fluid levels in the cells?

Never mind, I just caught the bike brand! :lol3:lol3:lol3 Just kiddin' Chad. Always wanted a Ully, but never got around to picking one up. Magoo did talk me out of a couple though. :D

I know of some SM guys in the Fayetteville area. Maybe they'll pipe up.

We have a pretty good group of moto-trials riders forming up here in the area. Got 2 Trials clubs in NC...Metrolina Trails Riders and Carolina Virginia Observed Trails Club. You should check an event out sometime.

Lots and lots of off road riders around.

I'm thinking the battery is the culprit. It might be the tender itself, because it's been acting funny. Might just be the bike is pissed at me for not riding? :lol3
