Looking forward to info re: the Sept 15-17th KTM factory sponsored Adventure Touring rally in Crested Butte, Colorado. I understand all bikes welcome, from mid size to unlimited.

Surprised that the 3rd year event didn't get much attention here on the forum. Easily accessible from much of the east and some of the best dedicated trails out there. In the last few years the state opened up previously dedicated mountain bike trails for enduro/dual sport only trails within Bald Eagle. But since no one has really "marketed" the trail network, people don't know they exist. The only issue I see is that the gates needed to enter the enduro trails are likely too narrow for GS riders. A great resource for mapping of the trails check out www.purplelizard.com

I'm really surprised as my 950 didn't have much to spare and those GS(A)s with crash bars look massive. I had an 1150 a few years ago. We rode from Whipple Dam down past Allen Seeger and all the way down to Coburn. We only hit up about half the enduro trails, but rode a good 4-5 hours - two 950s, Tiger 800 and KLR. I grew up in State College and rode a lot of those trails on mt bikes, but damn it's pretty down in the low stream areas - PNW like. The group rides can't really do the enduro trails legally, but then again I really don't like those group ride things.
