Wondering if anyone has any updates on the Rally Crush. Their website states they took 2017 off to re format for 2018. http://rallycrushcanada.com/en/blog/

Super interested in both competing and possibly running a support crew for this event if it goes down.

No update, but interested in what they have planned... not a lot of details on the website yet.

I'll try to get some info from the organiser, I know him relatively well. If he could at least give us a teaser, I'm also itching to do this event again. I took on the last 2 editions in the pro-class, all I can say brutal but super fun. But don't take my word for it, ask Chris Birch or Quinn Cody. :)

I've heard through the grapevine that a series of unfortunate events have led to its demise. First, Marc Fontaine's house burnt down. Second, he went from working for KTM to T-Rex and they're not supportive of the rally. I was told it's a slim "maybe" for 2018.

Well that's shit.... on all fronts. Damn. I was really looking forward to this year. I hope that the situation improves... we need more events like this!

I was in Parent QC over the labour day weekend last year and although there was no organized rally there were a number of DS bikes. This is a snip from my RR, Byron I am not.

"It was full on dark before we made the small town of Parent. We had ridden from "Le Refuge" to Parent, about 500km of trail and dirt road with a bit of paved sections up in Chibougamau. We were tired, the KLR had lost a headlight and was running on reserve from the ride down from Chibougamau. We fueled up we went to the municipal campground and were greated by the view of a bunch of DS bikers camped out. Apparently there used to be a hugely popular rally there over the long weekend but it got so big they had to shut it down. Some people still come to ride on the long weekend. (Adding it to my list). Some supper, couple of drinks and we racked out. Found this article about the rally: http://www.mxpmag.com/beast-woods-orange-crush-adventure-rally/"

RR here if you're curious. Looping this section of the TCAT was awesome.

Yeah...that dosent really help... Kind of like saying: "Oh we're out of beer? Here, let me tell you how good the last one was...." LMAO! That said, I should rally the troops and get a ride in up there next year if nothings going on.

Hell yeah you should. Not a lot up there but the camp ground was rustic the trails I'm assuming numerous and there is no doubt in my mind that there is beer as there were a couple pubs. Seemed like an out of the way but cool place....might be our version of Baja lol.

Had a brief email exchange with Marc, we should be talking more next week. He is finishing rebuilding his loss from fire and then evaluating the possibility of the rally.

Patrick Trahan put on a small roadbook event from Parent to LaTuque on the weekend that the Crush would normally have run and is planning on repeating next year. Patrick was normally the sweep for the Crush.

    Time will tell.

Nice. Yeah, I was chatting with Patrick about this briefly a few weeks ago. Fingers crossed.

Cool. These days Im in it more for the challenges than the scenery, although scenery is definitely nice and makes the tough stuff a bit more acceptable/tolerable...lol. I guess I've been bitten hard by this Hard Enduro craze.... but I stil love the adventure of it all. Combining the two is what Im more or less about right now. Adventure while challenging yourself at the same time.

Similar feelings here. Local to me the scene is very much hare scrambles, single track and 2 strokes. I contemplated adding a 2 stroke to the garage but the 500 works well enough. If I thought I wanted to be competitive and if I could street plate the 2 stroke in any prov I might be posted to I'd probably pick up a 300 xc-w, maybe the 2019 fuelie version if it comes to our shores.

Yep...just picked up a 200 xcw, blue plated... Had it less than a week and already put a hole in the ignition cover ;) Got it mainly to fall in line with my teammates who are all going 2 stroke, but also so I can look like Jonny Walker when we give Dacre 2018 another shot. :p The format is changing and will be closer to a Romaniacs event than the traditional Dakar marathon.

Hoping to add Rally Crush to Calendar in 2018 as well.... the 690 is raring to go!

Wasn't tracking a format change for Dacre, though I know they did a split between big bike and little bike on the last one and included more single track then they have on previous rallies. On my best day I would hope to be close to JW on his worst day, here to hope as a COA.

Yeah, was chatting with Lee at one of Paul Bolton's courses. Among other various bits of intel, it will begin and end in Dacre. ;)
