That is how I've been testing mine, spot on the lower and driving on the upper, the way I remember it on the driving Squadron 2 of the reflectors are flood and 2 are spot.

Steamboat stopped by last week and had that dimmer on his 950, it was very slick because it has a separate wire lead for a high beam over ride that you could wire up to a switch for full power and about 1/4 the size of the BD dimmer. I was sold.

As far as the Squadrons go, I'm done looking, they're built for racing so they might not be for everyone, but for me it has everything I'd spec out if I was building one with the exception of a built in dimmer for the driving version.

Phil, can't wait to hear how it goes!

That even looks stock, doubt you'd ever have any problems, good job!

looking back at the pics I noticed two things...

    1) my garage is a mess (am I the only person that has a picture of their corvair on the wall?)

    2) my grass in the front yard was green two months ago and now looks burnt and nappy...at least it hasn't caught on fire yet like everything else around here.

One other thing looking back at my post...this isn't MY prototype, this is Paul's prototype from HDB. It's in the title of my post but that sometimes get's overlooked. I'm not remarking about the beauty of my own work...I only do that after I mow the lawn.

Made some progress with the Nav tower finally... I am away from home in a water refinery and it gets progresivvelly difficult to work on the project as during the weekends I have to travel home and in between other things :evil I work on this tower...

Anyways, here is what the original plan was, I wanted to use Touratech IMO1oo below the Road Book Holder but I finally decided to go with the original KTM so as not to loose Temperature, Fuel gauge etc... The bike will still be used as an everyday bike so I have to retain some functionality...

This is what it looks like in real life (the front sheet only...) which I want to test on the bike in order to see if it fits, what needs to be done on the fairing etc ....

And the rear ... the distance between the two IMO's needs to be adjusted a little bit ...

Now, while I am in this land far far away... I still have the CAD tools with me so I did this in order to be one step ahead :D ... Buttons on the side will be for the Engine Fans and the two IMO's and below they will be for other electrical stuff ... PThe new one is 3mm thick, the 2.5 mm does not seem too solid but that is without the stiffeners ....

I have requested a quote for the rest parts of the design, and hopefully have them in house in a week's time. I will put them together (not weld them, in order to be able to move things around) and check the design....

From what I have checked though, it seems that the KTM gauge may interfere with the steering... Which is good for the straights but then again... :D

Rode 70 miles or so of whoops and gnarly last night with Kanook who is getting ready for V2R. The HDB 450x proto bracket didn't budge. I didn't even locktite the bolt (which I need to do next). Even with the 60cx sticking up like an antennae nothing moved.

For reference, that is a BD Squadron Spot (not driving). The throw is ok compared to my 8" HID. I could see myself out-riding it though where with the HID I've never had that problem. The beam is also very narrow so in the tight stuff it was more difficult to keep the light on the trail. On the positive though, a lot of light spills close to the bike, so a fill light is less required. Like Geek said, if I mounted two and aimed them slightly left/right it would be the best compromise besides a full on race light. Or run the 8" racelight with the squadron pointed in front of the tire, that would be nice as well.

Running double Squadrons for testing and it's an insane amount of light.
Lower light (driving) top light (pencil)

The small KTM(?) bracket that holds the Leatherman to the nav tower on the recent rally bikes?

Are these custom made or are they available to all?

    Thanks...

Hy, there are no special brackets for the leathermann on the KTM 690 RR or the 450 RR nav tower.
I think you mean the brackets for the Sentinel and the Iritrack system.

There are a lot of holes in the KTM rally nav tower, or you drill some new holes, so it it would be not a problem to fix a leatherman with some zip ties.

No idea they had one of those... Stole this idea from Kemal Merkit last year: just use 3 large tie-wraps to secure the leather pouch to the upper left fork (through the belt hoop), and 2-3 heavy duty rubber bands to make sure the button fastener stays shut around the top...

    some shitty pics I found
