Just a word of caution, if you ask GPS City to price match on a product that they are offering free overnight shipping they will make you pay for the shipping instead of honoring their offer of free over night shipping.

I got caught up in this when ordering a Garmin 665 to replace the 2 units I had sold before a planned trip. I accept some responsibility in that I sold the 2 units I had so I could order the new unit from GPS City prior to me trip. They were offering free over night shipping on the unit and price matching, right up until I ordered the unit. That is when I received an email (no phone call, but an email) from them says that my GPS would not ship over night unless I agreed to pay an extra $38 for my free shipping. After numerous phone calls and emails I paid the shipping as I needed the GPS delivered.

Have always received outstanding customer service from GPS City right up until this order.

They did not even offer to split the shipping with me. They have lost a loyal and frequent customer over $30.. I know that is silly and trite but I am the customer...

Would you have felt better if they stated it as "included" overnight shipping. Overnight shipping is never free, and they can't stay in business providing the outstanding customer service that they do by taking a loss.

To keep you out of hot water, I suppose a solution would be for a potential buyer to PM you with his ph#, then you call him to discuss the purchase, and to pass the buyer a coupon code.

I'm ready to buy.. so if that works for you, let me know.

I'm sorry to hear about this exchange- Can you PM me an email address or something I can use to reference this issue? This is the first I've heard of it, and I am the person who approves all price matches. I'll speak to our reps to avoid this in the future.

I've asked a rep to put together some options for you last week; would you prefer they be PMed over or do you want someone to reach out to you by phone? Thanks!

I'm sure you would have just rolled over and accepted this.

A deal was made, it wasn't until 4 hours later that an email, not a phone call, was sent saying that unless I paid an additional $30.00 for shipping I would not receive my GPS. Wanna see the emails?

How would you handle it Sparky?

I've been itching to get my first GPS for my bike, an 1150gs. I had a Garmin 2610 a long time ago that only saw rare car use so my GPS skills are virtually non-existent. The Montana bundle talked about here is no doubt a stomping good deal and I'd love to be able to afford it but I'm a starving artist (jazz musician.) I'd love to see a bundle geared towards someone like me, a new user looking to get my GPS feet wet, someone on the fence but maybe of limited means. Maybe an Oregon 450, City Navigator and a mount?

About the Oregon 450, is it at the end of it's useful life? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong type for my needs. 90% of my riding is onroad. Is there a better model (similarly priced) for mostly road use. Unfortunately, even though I daydream about it, I don't envision ever being able to go on long offroad type adventures.

If you have any issues with the code not working, etc. please feel free to shoot me a PM!

For a GPS and accessory, would you prefer an Oregon 450 w/ 24K or a Montana? I'll get a coupon code rolling.

    G[/QUOTE]

I must have missed the coupon code for the Montana. Would you please repost.

    Thanks,

I was about to order up a dvd of CNNA 2013 and a lifetime update for it. Can you please let me know if there is any ADV consideration on those currently? Thanks much.

P.S. you guys have been great at getting RAM stuff out to me recently.

Going through older posts and caught mention of a "Oregon 600 bundle". What does this include? I'm fixing to replace my tired and beat-up Oregon 200 and I'm going for the 600 as a replacement. The Montana would be nice for a bigger screen when I'm riding but the unit has to pull dual duty for hiking and the Montana would be a bit big to carry.

P.S. I'm another Vegas local. When's the BBQ/Open House? (I'll understand if you want to wait a bit for the temps to get a little cooler)

We have a couple of bundles with the Oregon 600 that have a few mapping options, but we've not yet created a mount bundle. We'll be happy to, though, as I think that'd be a pretty good idea.

The BBQ/Open house will wait til we get our average temps under 110 degrees :D If you'd like, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to arrange a time that you can check out the Montana and Oregons in person, too.

Just a general heads-up for a lot of you guys, Garmin's switching over to the 2014.0 DVDs, so they're in a backorder situation until they've gotten the shipments rolling. This will be around July 20th (current ETA from them), or possibly sooner. A lot of our bundles use the City Nav DVD, so this makes the whole item become a backorder item. If you'd prefer to buy the bundle at the discounted price and get a MicroSD card instead, we can make get that done, or we can ship the rest of the items and will just send the new City Nav when it comes in.

Just let me know if you submit an order and it's backordered and I'll make the arrangements. Thanks!

I asked this earlier in this thread and got no rise, but I'm still interested as well...and following the InReach SE thread closely.
