Just an update. Douglas County and the NFS have closed the seasonal gates on Rampart Range Road. This happens every Dec. 1st as the county does not maintain the road in the winter. I know, we all wish they would leave it until Ma Nature closes it...but it's a scheduled event. Trails stay open all year (unless a "mud" season closure) so you can park at the far north lot off of CO 67, the Sprucewood Inn or other access points but you can't drive down the road. Once the gates are closed RRR is considered OHV eligible so unplated vehicles can legally use the road until next Spring.
