    Or at mine.

We're going to trailer the GS w/ a hack to Seattle in August to run the Alcan5000 again & would have plenty room on the trailer for Hacky's rig.

I've got an idea.......it will involve a raffle of a motorcycle. :deal Proceeds over and above an embarrasingly low net value will be donated to Hacky's Californication trip. I'll bounce the idea off of Barb and Fite tonight at movie night. I'll even through in some of my own loot.

Hacky is the best ADV rider I know of when it comes to skill, balance, speed, maintenance and repair of his steed while on the road. He is ALWAYS prepared. That preparation usually benefits his fellow riders rather than Hacky due to his immaculately prepared bike. His tools and know-how are usually lavished on those less-well prepared, or who are just unfortunate to have experienced a "mechanical" on the road.

He does take his representation seriously.

Pretty impressive how he got the Alaska Leather sign into the shot. On his tip-toes, over the shoulder and in traffic. Quite the display.

...followed immediately by a hi-wheel wheelie all the way through the intersection on a fully loaded pig about 2 seconds after this shot, as I recall.

    A raffle is a great idea,,,,but
A raffle has to be run under a state gaming permit. Non Profit! How about a lions club or some organization running the raffle under their permit?

Too many rules and then we'd have to print posters, sell tickets. The non-profit usually wants a cut. It's kind of a small endeavor to do that much work when we can all throw a little in the hat and get it done. Already 2 donations posted today for $10.00 each. Thanks, Barb

We need the Hackster to post up a rough budget of what we need dollar-wise. I don't see the need to do a raffle.. just a fill the boot kind of deal.

What it's gonna take is a concerted effort on the part each and every ADVer in this group. Time to gather up some change and get it to Barb either in person or through PayPal.

I'm talkin' to each and everyone of you Pterodactyls/Gruvers/ and Wanabees.

Hacky and MotoMama have been a huge part of D2D from the very beginning. If you've ever been to Dawson during our little D2D gathering, you know a lot of effort goes into making it happen. These two riders have payed their dues and I think we need to show them our thanks and appreciation.
    It's pay-back time.

$10 each? :rolleyes Gotta do better than that.
Barb, questions some may want answers to. Can you, to the best of your knowledge, answer these?

You sure that site is secure?

Is a percentage taken by Paypal and credit card companies?

If yes to the above, which would take less?

Can we give cash straight to you & save that percentage that they might take?

If we can't raise enough, approximately $3K as I understand it, to send Hacky South to Cali & back, will we get a refund?
(We damn well better raise enough!)

    And most importantly........ :evil
Will Hacky spend most of it on hookers & blow or just spend most of it foolishly?

Will Hacky share the hookers & blow?

1-Yes, it is secure. It is a just a donate button on the Alaska Leather website under the category "HackyMoto"

2-The percentage is between 3 and 4 percent depending on which credit card. Debit cards are cheapest. Paypal is the easiest to refund. I will pay the percentage because I won't keep a total of anything but the amount donated.

3-It is far easier to keep track of money online, rather than in pocket. We'll have a list of who and how much. Hacky can then thank the right people and if he can't go-it's the best (and easiest) way to refund.

4-I know we'll get enough to send him. It's a small amount and if we can't raise enough, I am sure he can scrape up the remainder. And like I mentioned in the last paragraph-we'll refund money if he doesn't go.

5-Hookers and blow are not for sharing any more. The 80's are gone, Tom.

6-Some people can't afford more than $10.00, small amounts add up.
