In Boston there's no place to ride a "real" motorcycle for a kid, since basically if they are gas powered the rider needs a license.

But there is a giant park just down the street - 1.5 miles around and an electric scooter or "dirt bike" is allowed.

Razor lists two models, the MX650 and MX500.

They both have 36V SLA batteries, which could probably be upgraded.

Customer reviews on Amazon are all over the map from no-way to awesome. Anyone use one? Know any forums? Any alternatives?

There's also an MX1200, but maybe that is a custom build.

Didn't see it on their website. Apparently a 1200 is a modified 500 or 650.

Best of luck, and if you want to modify it there are great e-bike forums out there that have experience with custom battery packs.

I betcha most of the negatives can be avoided if you go out of your way to make sure the battery is maintained well. Looks like great fun!

Here is one of the biggest http://endless-sphere.com/forums/ The primary focus is on e-bicycles; but, anything electric powered is fair-game.

Turn the sound up! My CRF sounds good. :D
Most all electric bikes, R/C's etc only have 1 gear, because that's all you need.
