Many of the '09 models (first year) had fuel pump issues. I have heard that a lot of people have had problems getting Yamaha to take care of it. I think they got a bad batch of pumps from their supplier. I have a 2012 Zuma 125, and so far it has not had any problems. If you have an '09, I would have it checked by a dealer. That fuel pump is almost $200, just for the part, not including labor.

If it is a recall that applies to your bike, the dealer does the job even if it works well. Paid by the manufacturer.

    Same here ( :wave )
I also replaced the "new" pump Yamaha put in with an aftermarket pump after the "new" pump failed (lucky me I got a replacement pump that was in the defective run of pumps). I'm very happy that there has finally been a recall, but I'm pissed that there was a recall in Japan back in 2009 for the very same problem. A manufacturing defect shouldn't be handled differently for different countries when it's the same run of parts that are causing the problem.

Yep, mine had 3200 miles and was replaced last June under the 5 year emissions warranty.
