I do a lot of reading in the winter months in front of my wood stove when it is cold and dark........... and ran across a good recent adventure book some of you might like.

Yes it is adventure on four legs as opposed to 2 wheels...........but it reads every bit a great adventure.

If anyone else has any other good (and recent) adventure reads, please add them!

Great tip. Right in my alley.

Sadly the DVD is only region 4 release.
I'm going after the book though.

You will like the book - Mongolia to the Danube River on ~$10/day with 3 ponies and a dog - Epic!

    Another adventure book I liked:

Fatal Passage - The Untold Story of John Rae .....by Ken McGoogan
    [IMG]

....but this one starts in June 1883........and John Rae does a lot of walking/snowshoeing looking for Sir John Franklin. Unbelievable where and how far this man walked in Canada!

Reading this one will give you the distinct feeling we are ALL a bunch of wimps these days!

........thankfully reading Tim Cope's adventure makes me feel that there still are some tough humans still around.

    Enjoy!

Thanks.....yes I read that one. There is also a made-for-tv drama for the book, but it was kind of cheaply made and not nearly as good as the book.

Making a very big whale mad when you are in a wooden boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean now seems like a dumb thing to do............but history is like a different country - they do things differently.

    Thx,
