Thank you for sucking so much, and this is what the feeling of victory looks like, you may not see it for a few more years

Should be completely over later today when they give Bobby V (sounds like a New Yorker name) the boot. Then we can pick up the pieces and go on sucking (but with a better liked manager). The dumb ass should of brought the Beer and Fried Chicken back to the club house in June and we'd be back in it. :lol3

I'd rather see Lucchino get the chair. The electric one.

Agreed, I don't think very highly of the owners and its obvious they know little about the game or how to deal with the players. Last winter when John Henry fell down the stairs of his yacht, parked in Boston Harbor, and hit his head and needed to be stretchered off and transported to MGH it all become clear that they were all drunken rich idiots. Bring back Tito and make him GM! (he's part of Jens family by marriage, we might be able to get tix cheap) :lol3

    Aaaannnnddd: It's official Buh-bye, Putz.

Firing valentine is like removing warts from a terminally ill patient. At least the body will look better in the casket.

Lucchino is the cancer that must be removed in order for the 'Sox to survive.

I confess I don't follow the Sox close enough to fully understand why he is the problem ? I do, however, very closely follow Liverpool Football Club across the pond and since the same folks who own the Sox own LFC, I'd love to know why he's a problem :ear

He's a lawyer, who thinks he knows baseball. Think Jerry Jones, now you are on board.

    What a season.

I'm still looking for ONE Red Sox fan who thought Bobby V was a good idea.

    Classic story.

Bunch of rich guys buy sports team, spend some money to get talent.

    Talent wins.

Rich guys think it was their skill that generated the wins.

Rich guys bring in "their" guys.

Rich guys no longer have winning team.

If you don't like it , buy your own team. :fitz

Only in sports can owners act like Russian Royalty and not expect bad outcomes.

I like rubbing in the Sux fans faces, and yes it i fun to see them lose. However good the race with the Birds was, it would have been better with the Sox. IMO it is the best rivalry in American sports.

Twas Lucchino that drove Theo away the first time, and he came back under some deal for a bit more control as a GM. That sore never healed, and it was a big part of why he left for the Chicago.

might as well bring back Dan Duquette and Jean Yawkey...Larry is just as bad.

At least Duquette had a great eye for develop-able talent. Right now they got nothing in the pipe or the horizon.

Not a sox fan, but I don't piss on their jerseys like the Yankees. I think Bobby V was the right choice. It was obvious the sox were going into a rebuilding phase. They took a gamble on a guy where the worst case scenario was that he would act as a scape goat.

Bobby V is Bobby V. You know what you get with him. You get a manager who is slightly out there, loves the spot light, and can draw attention. All the BS about how he didn't care drives me nuts. The guy now holds the record for most games thrown out of. He called out players who weren't pulling their weight. This is a manager who at one point in his career got kicked out of a game and put on a fake mustache and gave hand signals from the crowd. The dude cared.

Working/ playing in Boston sports can go one of two ways. You are either loved and a legend, or you are hated and run out of town. What makes Boston sports great/ horrible is the bipolar nature. Fans are erratic. Look at Tim Thomas from the Bruins. Won a Stanley cup, put up some of the greatest numbers in NHL history, had a pretty good follow up year, but was a scape goat and run out of town.

Bobby V didn't stand a chance. The fans hated him before he even unpacked his suitcase.

Or anyone else. Following up Tito was a no-win situation for any manager, unless they won a world series right away. Not happening with Lucchino's team. If only the kid had been left alone to do his business.......................

oh no, the worst case scenario was worse than that, and they got close; i mean, by mid summer they had beloved and well respected players whom they were planning on building the franchise around (pedroia and a-gon) portrayed as scheming manipulators. sheesh.

To add further insult to our injuries, Tito will be managing the Indians. Now even the lowly Indians will be kicking our butt too. Oh hey, maybe Sparky wants to come to Boston? We can light candles, hold hands, moan about and conjure him before each game. Could not do worse.
