A huge gracias goes out to Renazco. You rock! :super

A few weeks ago, I wrote to James that my Renazco seat had a deformed pan and that I need his help. James confirmed that the leather had dried out (my fault) and pulled the seat out of its original specs.
"Ouch!", me thought, "That sounds like an expensive fix". But James came through in a BIG way. Not only did he reshape the twisted plastic pan, but he also made me a brand spanking new cover, all for only $100.
What a great deal! This seat looks and feels like brand new now.

    Thank you James! :clap

Just ordered up a Scotts Damper for my 990 Adventure. Appreciate the great price and can't wait to get it. I probably need to order one of your seats as well.

Question about Sidi Charger boots. Have these been discontinued? Your site only shows two sizes. What's the return policy? And, what's your personal opinion about them versus Crossfire TA's? Are they a little easier to ride in without giving up too much protection or longevity (the boot, of course, not the rider :-) ). Thanks.

Just went on to order a steering damper, and the ADV code expired 9/30.

    Is this offer still valid?

    Thanks!

I just ordered from Renazco Racing. Great customer service.
I needed a Scotts Stabilizer and they went above and beyond for information and helping me out. Sent some great photos of his setup as well.
The ADV coupon is still working as well.
    Thanks for the great service.

I tried to order Fastway Adventure Pegs for a KTM (its for a 690 but will be using the 950/990 pegs). The only option on the website is one for BMWs. Is this as planned or just a glich?

I just wanted to thank you guys for hooking me up with the Scotts Damper, and the buying advice when choosing road vs. off-road. Also for the ADV discount! Saves a lot of money on a great product.

Another thank you for James at Renazco. Just received various parts from him. Great prices, shipping to the UK not a problem and fantastic customer service - I couldn't be happier :-)

This is cross-posted from the 701 Enduro and Supermoto Owners thread:

Just realized I don't have the proper torque wrench to put my clutch back together so progress on that is on hold for the moment.
While I'm waiting for that to arrive in the mail, I wanted to share my experience with Renazco Racing, purveyors of "custom" motorcycle seats...

Full disclosure, I still don't have my seat and it might be the comfiest thing to ever grace my backside, but the experience I've had as a patron of Renazco was so terrible that I will likely have the seat recovered at the very least so that I don't have to look at a Renazco Racing emblem every time I ride my bike.

I initially contacted Renazco because I had heard great things about their seats, but I don't really care for the stripe of material down the center look they have going for them. I asked James if it would be possible to create a faux seat out of suede instead, and have it surrounded by blue vinyl which would blend into the bodywork of the bike. He responded enthusiastically that he was always interest to try new things and that it sounded like something they could do. He also mentioned that I should draw something up or draw on the seat before I sent it in. I drew up some plans on the computer, emailed them to the address I had been dealing with, and sent in my seat.

After looking at some of the seats on here I realized I didn't care for the contrast stitching which I had initially asked for and I was also worried that instead of changing the shape of the suede stripe to look more like a dirt bike seat, he would just round off the front which I assumed would not look good nor was it what I had in mind. For these reasons, I emailed Renazco and asked for James to contact me before he started the build to make sure that what I wanted done could be done and Sonia at Renazco confirmed she would note it in my paperwork.

Fast forward a few weeks and the week of my build (Feb. 20) comes and goes with no word. I contact Renazco and am told: A) They were sick and are a week behind; B) James will contact me prior to starting my seat; C) They are waiting on my seat to arrive (I now have no idea where my stock seat is and send out a concerned email - she responds that they do in fact have my seat already...)

Another week goes by, still no word. Finally I get a request for the full amount on the seat. Before paying, I again contact Renazco asking for James to contact me prior to starting the seat. I am told this will happen and I pay the full amount.

Another week goes by with no further communication. On March 17th I finally decide to call Renazco as I have no idea what is going on. Sonia informs me my seat is finished and will be shipping out that day. Flustered, I tell her I was never contacted about the build and now we are in a situation that I tried on multiple occasions to avoid. I seriously don't know what more I could have done short of camping out on their factory floor. So, I'm super pissed. She tells me James hasn't built/put the cover on yet and that she will have him call me. Shortly thereafter, James calls me to tell me how great the cover looks. Avoidance isn't really a great way to deal with a mistake, so that only makes me more annoyed with their service. He then goes on to tell me he never saw my plans nor any note to call me (he also tells me that there was nothing for us to discuss at this point anyways and he doesn't know why I would have wanted him to call.) He goes and looks for the plans, after finding and seeing which he tells me that this would have never worked as the suede would not stretch to the shape of the seat properly...

I would have either never dealt with them in the first place, or at the very least shopped around and tried to find someone that could do what I wanted them to do. I tell him as much, to which his reply is basically, "I know the seats on those 701s are terrible and you want this seat. Let's not argue about looks." Now I'm irate. He calms the situation by telling me he can try and build the seat the way I wanted it and we'll see if it works/what it looks like. Although at this point it sounds like I might actually be getting what I wanted, I'm frustrated and annoyed that I now feel like a difficult customer which I never have any desire to do. He contacts me later in the evening which pictures of the seat he built, which is exactly what I thought he'd do and didn't want, with the suede stripe just rounded off in front. I told him, yea I guess that doesn't work and I'll just take what you built originally. He responds that I must be joking, that he spent all afternoon working on this seat, and that he can't resell it. At this point I'm super confused because he literally just told me he'd build the seat and see how it looks with serious reservations as to whether it would work. To which I replied, "I really don't care any more. Send me a seat."

I am blown away with how horrible the customer service was from a company that came highly recommended. Their seats must be like sitting on clouds for them to be able to turn a profit and run a business so inefficiently. I know that I am the exception to the rule and most people are very satisfied with what they get. I also realize that I asked for something different than what they normally do and that is likely why I got the service I got. But seriously, come the fuck on. No notification when things ran 3 weeks past their scheduled date. No communication from James at all regardless of how many times I asked for it and was assured that I would be getting it. Then after all of these fuck ups on their part, no real apology was ever offered up, nor was there any real attempt to make things right until I escalated the situation.

A word to the wise, if you want a "custom" seat from Renazco, be sure to order off the menu.

TL;DR: Tried to get a custom seat from Renazco and failed spectacularly.
