    Hi Pete;

From the pictures I could not tell if the Bash plate you have built is for the GPR single pipe or not. I looked through the last few pages of posts but if it was written, I overlooked it so sorry if I am asking you to repeat somthing you've already mentioned.

All the same, could you please let us know? Also some indication of price point so I can start softening up the Missus would be good.

    Thanks.

PS) Great looking work, BTW! :thumb

    Hi Terence,

Yep - its specifically for the GPR (cos thats what I have and im selfish). The rhs curls up and around the lowest part of the header Y join protecting if from who knows - either way its protected. Im working on a quick release mount for the rear atm. I'll get some pics up when its done if you like :thumb
Cost - still working on that, but I'll pm you when its done.

Forgive if this has been talked about already but will the subframe be able to handle the weight of tanks/gas AND some luggage?

I'm not talking about hard side bags here but something in the line of a Giant Loop bag or. . . . . .?

Yep, I've done a few trips loaded with gear and with 30 extra liters of fuel (loaded high and far back on the rear rack) and never had an issue. A giant loop and this config wouldnt be an issue (weights is held low on both the proposed aux tanks and the gl).

    Hope it helps

Will the GL fit over those?

Pete' once you're done you can start on tanks for the SE :D

I have seen guys use the GL with the Gobi side racks in place. I'm thinking the rally tanks would be about the same width as the Gobi racks?

The Giantloop doesnt fit that well over the luggage racks.

Yep - the tanks fit inside the gobi racks (with a few little mods). Dont have a GL so cant say other than what others have said here. Given where the tanks will be fixed I dont think you'll need the racks tho if the GL's are your thing...

Hey Pete is there any chance you might make a single sided tank so it will fit the high mount 2 into 1 (if you havn't said so allready)

    Hi Ben,

Yep - part 2 or the replica tank process. I'll be using the outside of the moulds and a different inner so it'll cater for the guys (and hot girls) with 2-1 and 990s with abs. Of course you'll still need a GPR or similar if your running both singles, but for the 2-1 owners there will be a single, but thats a little way off atm, one piece is my priority atm.

What's the latest with the tanks? It's been very quiet for awhile now, any progress? Gotta have a set!

Quiet - mate its the silly season and I've been silly :evil Have a new mould for the CF bashie which Ive just pulled the Mk2 part from and will hopefully have mounted up this week. Even if I do say so myself the part looks brilliant straight from the mould - so detailing will be very minimal, almost a perfect rallye replica part. Pics mounted soon. (Lot of carbon in there - can never have too much).
The tank project is scheduled for a return 1st thing in the new year and I will hopefully have a moulded part by mid/late feb. If its any good then I might make a few extras for a few friends......:freaky

Other than that to all who have contributed thanks for your support with this project and have a safe and well lubricated christmas. Ride well.

    Pete,
I'm assuming the bashie will work with the low Meoni style exhaust?
Any specoal mounting hardware needed.( I never did see how the 950 rallye had its attached.)

It is specifically for the rallye style low headers (GPR etc).
Mounting is similar to that of the OEM in that it pivots from the rear stock mounts and bolts up to a flange at the front. The flange bolts to the stock vertical threaded holes of the OEM tank mount, letting the bashie bolt through horizontally. (if this makes sense)??

Hey fantastic. Denmark is just around the corner.:D

Ill be needing tanks and bashplates to my LC8 - RC8R project.

    Mikael

ps: Does your tanks neglect battery compartment under the seat? I´ll have some issues getting the battery elsewhere?
