Thanks for the link to your other report, we don't get many chances to see the Philippines on here...
Very cool, nice pics, thanks for posting!
Great report! Spent a month in the Philippines a year ago, and your pictures makes me want to go back. Beautiful country and friendly people.
Followed this over at the Chain Gang, Nice to see you've expanded your audience. Good stuff...
How many miles on the ol' Dakar now btw?
Fantastic pics, thanks. I will be there again next week and cant wait.
Sorry for the late reply. I dont have a bike there yet but hope to soon. Great pics there, thanks for sharing those.
Riceman, Nice report. I am an American, I am in Seattle at this time, however live in the PI since 2003. Was up in Bauang, La Union, but Daughter on GMA 7, forced move to Manila. I have a Honda XR200, and always looking for rides. Been up North a few times.
Always nice to see pictures from there.
Hi Riceman, really enjoyed your report, have ridden over some of the area you have been on my wave 110, was going to go on the Halsma highway on my northern Luzon tour, but stopped at Tabuk and went back to Quezon looking for a smoother way back to Manila, the suspension on a wave is a little short on comfort, gave the wave to my brother in law on Masbate, I was going to import one of my KLR's but I hear reports of 100% duty on the new price on bikes so I probably won't do that, will probably buy a local bike like a ybr 125, or xr 200, or barako 175, or, or,or will probably make up my mind after the house is finished, your really encouraging me to move there full time
Been enjoying your road tour. I've lived in Mindanao and rode the Davao-Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro as well as the foothills around Mt. Apo for the 3 yrs I lived there in the 90's. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics. Thanks and keep the pics coming.
About the rice hulls. They make a great substrate for hydroponics. Had a buddy in Davao who set up a hydroponics strawberry farm on his property along the Davao-Bukidnon road at around 4k ft elevation a few years back. It was an interesting experiment. He used giant bamboo tubes hung vertically and gravity fed solution from a tank fed from a spring on the property. I wonder if the DEA has me on a list because I bought so much hydroponic literature and supplies here in Atlanta.
Great RR and pix.
Just droppingby to make myself known.

This ongoing day rides report has been moved to Day Trippin'
Nice pictures, thanks. I haven't been there for 25 years or so, but you've brought back memories of what a pretty country it is.
3 pineapples for .90¢ Canadian total. Try about $5/ea here. :eek1
Yes, we used to stop at Subic Bay Naval Station. I wish I had been riding then, maybe could have rented a bike...
Huh. I thought they had closed the place down after the Marcos' regimes ended and the government got less friendly to the U.S.
We used to get a lot of work done on the ships there.
