There is a BIG VA Power lay down yard (often many spools) in Petersburg Va. but I don't have any VA Power contact information.

Wooden wire spools :evil Maybe the 1978 Z-50 would not be a bad choice for Saturday after all. I'm seriously considering packing a few different flavor bikes in the truck just in-case. Ride in / Ride out on the Husky 610 ~ may not be my best choice.

Need to finish my DRZ 125 / KX100 Hybrid pit bike project.

I'll send a note to a friend who works for Dominion and ask. I do know that many times they recycle those spools and send them back to the wire manuf. to get re-filled. Regardless, I'll still ask and see where it goes.

I dunno what T&B is making currently as far as big switches, but I always got good sized spools from the 350-500kcmil cable we were using a couple years back...my yard was full of "porta-tables"...:rofl:rofl:rofl call Will or Bryan and ask them to look out back, or call Terri...and ask them to toss a couple aside.

I'd like to check out a BBQ joint I've never been to. I usually get take-out from TD's Smokehouse on Patterson. They don't have a dining area, but you can get your oil changed! :huh

If you see a 2 prong plug, unplug it and take a U shape piece of paper clip and plug it into each of the 2 slots. That
    by-passes the switch.

Good pulled pork and N.C. or Va. style sauce.

That's what I'm thinking.. doubt you'd find such fanciness on a bike of that vintage. My 76 XS's had none of that. Double down on - plates stuck together or cable adjustment.

Joe and I are in the Iron Horse Campground in Stecoah, NC. IF anyone ever comes down here, this is the place to stay. $16 a night, fantastic facilities. Free grills, free coolers for use while here. Hot showers, laundry, etc.

Have done just over 1100 miles so far. Rained every day, but what can you do? Froze our asses yesterday coming over Mt. Mitchell on the BRP in the fog, but it was 85F in the valleys.

Went to Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley. Walked up in our gear and met the owner, Dale Walksler. He asked us where we were from and where were we going? When we told him, he invited us into the museum as his personal guests. Showed us around. What a great guy. He has a new show on Discovery called "What's in the Barn?". Can't wait to see it.

Joe is doing great and is a fantastic riding partner. No complaints, no worries. And tomorrow he gets to start leading with the TAT roll charts. That should be fun! We are on time and on budget so far. Expenses have been about $60 a day for the both of us, and that has been high because we've been eating out. Have yet to cook our own meals but I think that will change shortly.

Is anybody going to South Carolina for the 2014 GS Trophy challenge in September? I don't have a snoball's chance in hell of winning, but for the $200 entrance fee, I think it would be a blast. I would be interested in sharing a room if anybody is interested.
