I liked the K60's. I had almost 6K miles on them when I took the rear off. There was probably another 2-3K left. I replaced the rear with a Karoo3 because of the plug I had to use last weekend and because I'm taking off July 5th or 6th for a two week trip. I would have replaced it with another K60 but RevZilla was out of stock. When I saw they had the Karoo3 it was a chance to try the new tire.

The only thing I didn't like about the tire was its wet road performance. The continuous center strip was very slippery on wet pavement.... But that was it. I loved everything else about the tire especially the off road (dirt/gravel) performance. Tire wear is incredible considering how we ride. The dry pavement performance was also very good. It never broke lose on me.

I would recommend the tire and think it would be a great addition for the Tiger.

I left the Heidenau front tire on the bike. With 6K it still looks new. No complaints regarding the front. I'm very happy with it's performance wet or dry, street or dirt/gravel.

    I hope that helps.

    Howdy Virginians!

I just transplanted from Boise, Idaho last week to Spotsylvania Virginia to take a job in your great state. I brought my Idaho plated DRZ400e with me and my WR250f but I'm totally ignorant of what you guys have out here (other than beautifully loamy dirt that's free of massive boulders, rocks, squirrel holes, sand, and silt beds... totally jealous :rofl).

What's there for riding around these parts? Are there any resources any of you could point me towards? In Idaho we had BLM maps of trails and such available online, do you guys have anything like that out here?

A buddy of mine keeps telling me how there's limitless dirt roads and trails to ride around here, but can't exactly point me towards any. :cry

Help out a fellow inmate that's been newly displaced? PM's are cool. Thanks guys!

They've had a couple of segments on over the last few weeks. They're on a mission trip down in Peru to go help out an orphanage. The lady rider is a doctor and she has had her share of spills, but remains a trooper.

Slogged through 10 hrs and 46 minutes of driving the TDi from Orlando. I stopped in NC 3 times in 3 consecutive exits to find a bathroom, lunch and a diesel pump that was pay at the pump. Otherwise all nonstop. Averaged 71 mph. I can turn off the am I there yet part of my brain in the car most of the time. Harder for me to do that on a bike.

Oh, and the TDi averaged 47mpg. It is definitely a highway car.

Didn't hit any active construction zones. Only saw one or two accidents but FL and GA were heavily populated by road gators. Only saw one flat on a semi that was about to combust. I could smell it for several miles. When I passed the tire was smoking pretty bad. Driver was just a trucking.

Thanks for pointing that out. I starting watching 10 min before the first segment ended. I couldn't walk away from the next two. An adventure with a purpose. Very nice.

It was also interesting to see Bill Condor in the video. We rode with him two years ago at Morton's Natural Bridge Rally. Nice guy.

Cool deal, I didn't catch it until about halfway through the first one, but it's not often you see anything ADV related on TV so figure I'd mention it. I recorded the second and third segments, looking forward to watching those later.

We drove our TDi wagon to NH for a wedding then up to Acadia NP last week, same route back to Va. Averaged 48.2 mpg for the trip, car only had 600 miles on it when we left. Would have done better except for two days of wedding related taxi duty. Best thing was that basically every station up there has diesel pay at the pump. Some have it at every pump (6 pumps in downtown Keene, NH). Highway car for sure.

Already hooked him up with the card...

Dan- I did take a page from your book though & ordered the Shinkos for Nicole's F650. I think they will be perfect for her easy little lady like riding she does. They work fine for you right...hehehe

If any of ya'll are out there riding today, please stay hydrated. The sun is brutal.

I went out earlier on the Connie (full ATGATT) to run some errands and was sweating like a pig on a BBQ spit in short order.

On the bright side I've got a prescription for vicodin.

Had a great time otherwise, and definitely owe some folks some beers.
