I saw in the news a few months back that a guy in the local area was killed while flying his helicopter like that. He's friends said he was a superb pilot...I think a gust wind made him lose control of it.
    Sad

No but I have been invited back in the kitchen before! It is clean! Back when I used to go there once a week I got to talking to the owners. Thialand was going through a civil war and they were showing it on TV. They cried as they saw their people killed on live TV. It was crazy.

I order either Panang or Pad Num Prik Pow. Both are EXCELLENT.

    Folks,
Myself and a couple mates are looking for forest service roads to ride our GS' on Saturday. Any recommendations?
Coming in from Va Beach and D.C., due to the forecast weather our trip to WV has been changed.

    Thanks in advance.

Me too #21 this year! :evil:D

For anyone interested Black Creek is not having a limit this year on weekday memberships (5 day). Hard to beat $100/yr. Regular membership (7 day) are $150/yr and I think it's limited to 850.

I too have a Tenere. Kinda new to the area (from Hampton Roads), but I did get a chance to meet Mark (NJ) at a local bike shop while getting my S10 inspected. He was a nice fella, shame he is moving back up north.

You can get on Forest Service roads STARTING about an hour (actually more) from Richmond. Look around the Lynchburg Reservoir as that area is all graded gravel. You can also cross Rt 60 and find more to the North.

I own the same. You will love it. Put a streamlight tach light on it for night time home intruders. It's ambitextrous and super bright. Fits the picatinny rail very nice. Steady or strobe capable.

Aren't you zoned A-1 where you live? Why do you need a firing range? Other than not pissing off the neighbors.

Picking mine up tomorrow night or Sat. morning. How you liking yours?

Mine will already have 27k on it and is in need of a valve check.. Looks like the check isn't too bad but actual adjustments are a pain.

This past weekend I took a flat track racing class put on by RIDE academy. Bob White of Bob's Cycle Barn referred me and it took place on the track behind his shop.

Mike Hacker started the school and is an AMA Grand National Flat Track Racing. The instructors included Kenny CoolBeth, Johny Lewis, Cody Johncox, Ryan Wells, Tristen and Hayden Avery, Derick Hersh and Kenny Lamberti. One of the cool things they did was to ride with you as they gave instructions. It was a blast and I learned a lot about riding in the dirt. I'd highly recommend the class. They include beginners like me to potential national champion riders.

Right after I took a tumble in the dirt, Eddy came riding up with his son. We later chatted about our Motoport gear, and I am now convinced I'll upgrade my armor to the quad armor. So, if any of you want to take a quick trip to their factory, let me know. I need to get some of my gear tailored. I'll probably go in the next month or so.

I also met Kevin Dunworth of Loaded Gun Customs in Delaware. He's a regular commentator on the Velocity channel's Cafe' Racer. He was on this week's show on Tuesday.

I absolutely love mine, however I am NOT a mechanic. So valve adjustments arent so much a pain I'll just have to pay someone to do it. I would love to learn how but time is never my friend. I have almost 10,000 miles on mine now, & I have owned a few bikes prior to this. Absolutely my favorite by far! I have done two Iron Butt rides on mine... to Louisiana at Mississippi River from Portsmouth in 18 hours, and then another 4 days of meandering back over another 2K miles, and a day loop (1200 miles) from Chesapeake to Knoxville and back home in 20 hours.
We have been off road a few times, but nothing extreme, and all on stock, worn Battlewings... not a good tire. I am looking to lever on some K60's in spring, hoping that they will inspire a little more confidence off road to my very novice skill set. I have full Givi luggage, and a few other farkles which I find necessary, however the bike in its stock state is still a great machine.

and you don't mind company, I'd be curious to take a look see when you do this.

At the rate I'll be doing mine sooner versus later. Just passed 15K and will probably pass 16K before Christmas. Wait, that still leaves 10K to the service!

Still be curious to see one opened up.....
