Thought I'd report back. I had a chance (privilege) to see and hear Pierce Edens this past Friday. All I can say is WOW!
This guy is the real deal. He sweats Blues. Three sets of all original music, First set, just him and a guitar with a little slide thrown in. Second set this tall guy joins him on the stand up fiddle. Played with a style so unique its hard to explain. He throws in a few songs played using a bow and it sounds like he's using a chain saw. I had no idea you could make a bass sound like that. Unbelievable. Third set, this bloke comes out and sits down to a steel guitar. Together the sound is amazing. The real instrument the thing that holds this all together is Pierces Voice. He must smoke 10 packs of cigarettes a day to get that sound. The passion he brings to his music can be heard in the next county. If there was a downside and there wasn't, I'm nit picking now, is it was loud. I woke up the next day with my ears ringing. For what this guy charges I suggest the group jumps on the chance if you can get him. What would you pay today to hear Stevie Ray Vaughan? Not saying he sounds like Stevie because he doesn't he has his own sound. Just saying the last time I saw this much raw talent I was watching Johnny Lang play outdoors in Aspen CO. He was 16, and the time before that It was Stevie, In Wimberley TX before he gave the bottle up. Seriously good Music.
