Lexington is a thin vinegar pepper sauce with just enough ketchup to make it red. Western in thick sugary tomato goo slathered on everything. Both are made from pork shoulder smoked over hickory and apple woods as opposed to that vile eastern nc whole hog junk:evil. Eastern sauce just vinegar, pepper flakes and sugar mostly, no red.

I will have one of these for you when you het here.

There seems to be a dearth of Thursday rides.

    Thursday's Tour de Escarpment

This mostly paved ride will link as many twisty, paved SRs as I can while zig-zagging up and down the Blue Ridge Escarpment working our way westward. How far we get depends on the pace. The amount of off-pavement riding to be determined by dust and participants' appetite for off pavement roads. I will be on street tires, but I like gravel.

Did someone say barbeque? One of the best places on the planet is on the route. I also know a great taqueria and a great pizzeria/sandwich shop.

Wanna bail early? We'll be intersecting the Blue Ridge Parkway periodically, and it will deliver you to Laurel Springs with some nice scenery along the way.

    Standard ride rules would apply.

Meet Thursday at 9:30 in the parking lot behind Freeborne's restaurant. Have enough gas to go 75 miles.
