Today Barb sent me this link: http://www.thebigbiketrip.com/

    Here's a sample:
...it took us 36 hours to get back to Uyuni and when we did we realised that we had been tricked by professionals, she had stolen almost all of our clothes, electronics, documents, cash, bike keys, talk about being kicked when already in need of help, we were just happy that we were safe as ultimately I think their plan was to use our bikes to smuggle drugs out of Bolivia. The challenge now was to simply get out of Bolivia as fast as we could south to Argentina.

Cartegena is on my list for 2009, absolutely, even if I don't take the pig.

Good luck Rockiestwin! I hope your RR is long and adventureish!

Martincito very awesomely posted this: Uyuni, Laguna Colorada and Verde. Mini Report for those who don't know, this is in Bolivia, and it deals with the salt flats and lakes. This is an extremely remote area. You probably shouldn't even read this if you're not an expert, or else you're going to have serious anxiety attacks.

Wow- Lone Rider and Throttlemeister- your compliments have me all choked up. But those are empty compliments if they don't come with beer.

I'm so choked up I can barely add Hi-Jay's Patagonia-Bound, about two Michiganers (Go Wisconsin!) riding fancy brand-new matching shiny fully-kitted BMW R1200GS motorbikes from Michigan USA to Patagonia-where? Stop by and tell them how shiny their bikes are and how cute it is that they match. Hi-Jay likes to compare his to a shiny new HD. (Can you tell that I'm jealous?)

In case anybody was wondering about my own personal criteria for adding a Ride Report to this thread, basically I wait until the ride report turns into a real ride report, or has something that I think might convince another idiot to try something stupid. Anybody with different criteria is welcome to add links of their own, or am I the only one addicted to Ride Reports?

I'm gonna have a SA ride report for you that just won't quit. I hate doing research for a ride but this one has me reading everything I can get my hands on. I love SA!

You make it to Columbia for the rally and I'll get you a beer.:freaky
