OK, well a little heart attack got in the way of RUG III. So we will try it again.

    Ride: Rug Road, Mammoth, AZ
Time: Kickstands up at 9AM (we will ride if the temperature is to be below 80 degrees that day) December 8, 2012
Meet: Copper Canyon Road (gun range) just East of East River Road
Ride Type: Gnarly, tough sum-bich, small bike, bring skilz, bring own water, tools, flat repair stuff and food. No gas but it is only about 60 miles round trip (it is an out and back route).

Beautiful scenery in one of the most remote areas of Arizona. It is steep and rocky.

Please let me know you are in so we have a head count.

Nightstalker...you better be in with your rope!

Is Roger in? He said he would like to come I believe and that would give me a place to carry 2T gas and some stuff in order to travel light.

That is just lame. Was it just me or did the ovens seem more rough this year than last? The out and back didn't help, but it seemed very loose and rocky this year. OH, and if it would help Drew and you guys don't mind, Sunday is fine by me as well. Buddy has to make this ride to cliff dwellings.

I see in the flea market he is selling his 450 and his stuff for the bike.... spends all his time on the big bike.

I think "suck it" means I fear the rough terrain and only like smooth roads:lol3:rofl

Are we talking N Cerro Road gnarly? Like 15 degree off-camber, baby heads and ledge-steps all at once traveling very steeply uphill?

I don't want to be Achilles' heel.

Ah f it i'm in - you guys can tag it an bag it if I off the 530. (Note to self - rope, pain killers and whiskey. All of which is hopefully unnecessary)

    Encouraging /sarc

I've read Yardstick's and HTM's RR from last year.

More signs of encouragement from those Ride Reports:

Looks like the coke ovens on 15% more grade
    [IMG]

The dreaded stop/start (my inseam will love this business)

The camera always makes those inclines appear less than they are. Not so here!

One of those deceptively mild-looking hills (at least the way the pixels see it)

Things that make you go "hmmmmm...."

Can't say I wasn't warned I suppose. Don't worry you guys can just claim NO knowledge of me and I will spend 3 to 4K on a SpotMe 2 rescue. I've always wondered what the RED button does.:kboom

Cheaper to leave your bike and have Roger haul you out...having Roger is a major blessing.
