After dinner Terence took us for a drive around town and gave us a quick tour and where to walk then it was time to say our goodbyes for now and we jumped out and hit the pavement. this was the first sight we came across "the thinker" yeah hes thinking exactly the same as most blokes would be thinking if they were sitting there, "hey honey I can see down your top grrrrrr"

Your pic of Singapore is a serious contrast of Ed's pic of the Crown Jewel of Nepal, Kathmandu.

Singapore according to my Eva encyclopedia is the second most densly populated country in the world but it never seems to be busy. The MRT/rail system is pretty good here and there are connecting corridors that run underground to each station. The other day we walked up and down elevators along long corridors back up and down and came to a MRT station two stops away from where we started so possibly half the population are below ground.

So we had another fantastic walk around Lottle India China town and some of the burbs which was really interesting, theres certainly some bargains to be had in Little India I bought a pair of sunglasses for 1:90 thats cheap glasses I know but its the cheapest of the cheap Ive ever seen.

Ev just walked in with my brekkie yep Mickey dees egg and bacon burgers.

Tonight we fly to Germany and back to my baby.

So the time came to leave Singapore after a few days exploring its s real nice place actually but for us it was only to break up the flight be buggered if Im doing close to 24 hours flying non stop.

Changi Airport is great if your ever going through here and you have a stop over you could kill 24 hours or more no problems there is a pool, cinema, pc games, Ps4 games you name it its there to use and free and if you wanted a bit of shut eye just find a dark corner like the back of the cinema and your right to go. We had an 11:30 pm flight and had to check out of the hotel at 11am so after a quick run via the MRT to the harbour we just went and hung out in the airport.

Singapore harbour is boats as far as the eye can see.

Well moving right along from the mile high club scenario that kind of stuff isnt for a family blog like this Im a man of much higher moral fabric :lol2

The flight was actually pretty good we had 96A and 96C on the A380 so that put us up stairs just behind first and business class where they have about 40 odd of the cheap seats, its not a bad little spot away from the hordes of riff raff. We arrived in Frankfurt at 6:30 am local time after a 12 and a half hour flight which even I got to sleep a fair bit of so we were feeling pretty good at the time.

Jumping on a train down to Stefans where the bike has been just south of Heidelberg takes about an hour so a pretty relaxing ride with only one change. The hardest thing about travelling on PT or public transport in Germany is there is so many places with the same name all in different regions so when you put in Rohrbach about 5 of them come up and as if I know what region Im in. Apparently this same name thing dates back pre German coming together when it was all seperate states.

We jumped off the train and Stefan and Ira were out the front I could tell the they were there to meet us even though they were unloading the shopping from the car :lol3

Its early in the season here so there was only one other person here Dave from Florida who I had met passing through a few years ago on his way to Morocco then back up through Europe. It ws a nice chance meeting as we had some stories from earlier to share and he had heard about Ev but never met her.

He left after a day and headed south as the weather was starting to look onimous cooling down from an already cool start. I was looking forward to riding north at this point and to make matters worse I started to feel crook dont know if it was bird flu swine flu but it wasnt good. Ev was laughing to her mum about it saying oh if its a cold and its a man the world is probably ending, pffft what would they know how much worse a cold effects a man than a woman :lol2:lol2:lol2 just shhh up and rub my brow Im dieing here for crying out loud..

Well considering we are back in Germany and Ev wont rub my brow we will put her to work cleaning the panniers.

So the time came to leave Stefans and head for Poland the time a few years ago I dove to Bairitz in the south of France to pick up one of Stefans broken down rental bikes meant my bill for storage was mininmal which was great and a nice surprise. We had a nice last dinner with Stefan, Ira and the kids coming over to cook pizza in the outdoor oven which were actually nicer than the ones we bought down the road the night we arrived.

So we were all packed up ready to go and the battery was dead again even after charging it up so I decided to just go down the road and grab a new one, I did have a few issues with the older one but Stefan had put it on the charger and all the readings were saying it was alright well other than it wouldnt start the bike. Its been awhile but im pretty sure I was having issues with it as far back as Ireland so a new one wouldnt hurt.

Stefan and I took off down the road and not long later the battery is in and we are saying our goodbyes and on our way. It was dry at that point which was good, it has been cold and miserable for the last few days. We were lucky with the weather it didnt rain but it was sleet and snow so not really getting wet which was a bonus. The first day we drove a few hundred miles to the north but as we got around Leipzig the the sky turned black as so we turned off and found ourseves a cheap hotel for 35 euro.

It was good to have a roof over our head it was bloody cold outside and definitely not camping weather with the temperature well below freezing.

The next day we rugged up and hit the road again me still feeling a little crook obviously I could of picked better weather to be riding in but what do you do Ev had to be home for her friend. We stayed on the autobahn so it was an easy ride there is something about cruising at a 180 km that keeps you alert and its been nice to be going sort of fast again and the bike was running good.

    A tad briskish

Theres always positives to coming home isn't there, over 15000 km on many modes of transport and thousands of dollars and it is all worth it to witness this one moment.

Today the 25th of April is a day of commemoration in Australia our Anzac day ( Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) while not a Anzac day gathering this Polish remebrance day was a good place to reflect on our past.
