It was a pleasure to meet you, Stanley. You are a fine fellow, and I enjoyed riding with you.

May the rest of your journey go well. :ricky

Not just at Celilo....but over looking the location of the Old Celilo Falls, that sadly are no more.
I'm glad we went back to Moody Rd. today, I missed it on Friday's journey.

Below pic is from inside the old Fairbanks School. It looks like it's still used as a Grange today,
it's pretty well taken care of, with visitor's graffiti all over the chalkboard.

Some Whiskey and the Hot Tub greeted me when I got home.

Yes, Flat Stanley, thanks for coming with us.

It WAS a great day for riding, eh?
Clutch dis-engagement be damned, it wasn't gonna mess up my ride !!

Stanley could stand some nutrition, yes. Some fattening up.

So you think I should turn him into Fat Stanley before he goes home? :lol3 Instead of an envelope I'll have to mail him via "if it fits it ships." :D

Good to see you again Zac and thanks for the case. The camera case project turned out great. Jeff, really nice finally meeting you. And yesterday afternoon after finishing home projects I had serious remorse for not riding with you guys. Looks like you had a great time and thanks for posting photos guys.

Good to see you again too. Hopefully you added some hall pass points to the bank. :D

It's been pretty nice on this side so far today. Anxiously awaiting Jeff's ride pics from today. (Assuming he gets his clutch problems taken care of.)

Unfortunately, I had to cancel today's ride. I didn't know what was wrong really,
except that the clutch would not disengage. Lever was loosey goosey.

Discovered the Master Cylinder was leaking this black goo from the reservoir all over the lever, under the boot.
Checked the fluid today and it was only a little bit low, but all black and nasty looking.
I'm wondering, what else is wrong now?

You know, I use tools everyday, but I'm still scared to work on my bike for things I'm not familiar with.
After researching it online, I found out that you're supposed to change that stuff pretty regularly, this bike breaks it down.
So I flushed and changed out the old clutch fluid, bled the system and rode it home.
Made a big fookin mess, but it seems to work fine for now.

The cylinder still likely leaks slowly, it'll need a couple of parts to fix properly and some more fluid,
but I'm ready to ride again. I just don't yet know when I can, again.....

I had to work yesterday, Friday, until about 2pm.

But then Matloik came over to my side, to share the great afternoon with me.

    Gas stop in Odell:

We cruised around the Hood River Valley for a couple of hours, and found a couple of sweet country two-lanes.

We tried to go hassle Red Menace; he said he would have the afternoon off, but he wasn't home when we got there.

Then we cruised out the dead end "Reed Rd." and paused at this view of the HR valley:

We ended the afternoon at TourPros, who was celebrating that fact that his 650L had just breathed it's first fresh breath :clap

Is that an "in" for the two weeker, OBCDR, and WABDR at the end of July, beginning of August?
    Sweet, welcome !

Rode 25 miles of 'private single track' on a neighbor's .7 mile track. That's round and round till we were becoming dizzy and started blowing corners, making new lines through the sage, etc. :freaky

Need to get the 950 out and do some proper mileage soon!

Nice ride from the Hood, Craig!
Thanks for taking me there in pictures.
Nice dang day it was Friday, eh?

After I rode to Freebridge a couple weeks ago, with it's old Oregon trail crossing of the Deschutes,
I went home that night and started looking at maps around the lower John Day River, wondering where it crossed the JD.

I got to view the mid section of the John Day around Clarno, Cherry Creek, and Twickenham, last month,
but the lower portion still seems a total mystery to me.
I must see it. It's on my list even more, now.

At least I got to show Matloik the mighty "Tecumseh Chopper" :lol3, sitting by your front Porch.
How was the play Friday Night? It seems to be a big hit in the community.

Last year was the BIG Morel score at our place,
we must have found 60-70 on our little treasure hunts over one week's time.
    Mmmmm, Spaghetti....Fajitas,,,,Omelettes, etc. etc. !!

I've heard that only a 'tard rides his bike in his yard.
Sounds like good fun on the neighbors yard

Are we gonna be able to get all drunk, jacked up and stuff at WF, then go ride that 'private single track' ?

Craig McCurdy and I are have plotted to work on an "as much dirt as possible" route from Hood River to Bend.
We'll let you know what we come up with!

I have a old Sherman County map and some of the roads on it turned out to be private, so we ended up doing some back tracking but if you take Klondike Ln. out of Wasco it turns into McDonald Ferry Ln. at Webfoot. The river was flowing like it should at this time of year but I wonder what it would look like at the ford in late July and Aug. We should have tried to make it to Troy which is between McDonald & Cotton Wood but we ended up going south and to Grass Valley, next time! :D

The play was good entertainment and well worth 7 bucks.

If the morels are out before Easter bring a bucket of them to the Bunny BBQ!

(Chris, we were just talking about you. Do let me know if you see some them morels popping up in the yard and i will be right over!)
