Well, that's the end of my summer riding season. Had a slow fall as I was pulling to the side of the road to stop, and the right toe of my SIDI boots hit the ground first, twisting my foot backward. Spiral fracture of the tibia. Got a chance to utilize my inReach.
Enjoy your summer, everyone, and ride safe.

That's not a 'happy face", hope the healing goes as well as can be expected.

Let's see the hardware, after pictures. Glad there aren't more of the "tiny pieces" that I've seen in other spiral's.

Lots of support available in "Face Plant" if you post up your story, it might be therapeutic as you may be having more "Computer Time" on your hands for the next 6+ weeks.

I normally work on July 4th to get away from the fireworks but didn't this year so the gf and I decided to go to Cloud Cap to spend the evening but discovered it's still closed.:( So instead we ultimately ended up over at Clear Lake for a very relaxing evening under the moon and stars. What a beautiful lake! I always seem to stop at Timothy Lake because of the routes I travel getting from A to B and never went there before. I'm so glad we checked it out. :D

"GF"? Congrats! I like Clear Lake too, at least earlier in the year when they have water. Some nice sights on the backside that are somewhat motorcyclicable.

That really sucks! I'll be around in the fall when you're ready to get back at it.

    Whoa, baby,...slow down :becca
Sorry to hear of the break, that's gonna make this Summer not so sweet. Swimming is good therapy, and it's cool in the water.

    Bummer. Heal well!

Did you post on the rescue anywhere? I'm curious where you were and how things went getting out.

Besides riding motorcycles, I'm also a skier. So when my friend got a spiral fracture last fall, I knew that by Murphy's law we would have an awesome winter.
Ergo, I took one for the team and all you guys should have the best summer of riding ever! Just keep posting photos so I can live vicariously.

I only posted here and on PNW Duel Sport.
I'm glad I had the inReach, though I was only 7 miles from downtown Scappoose.
There are a couple key things about using the inReach for SOS. First, incoming messages from inReach don't go into your normal inbox, they are under the SOS icon. I didn't realize this until after they had sent me 3 replies. Also, the keypad for sending messages sucks. I didn't remember until afterward that I could have used my phone app much more easily. Having an accident solo, and having to initiate an emergency call is very stressful, and it would be nice if Garmin would make this process more simple.
From the initial call to the ambulance arriving was about 45 minutes.

Here's the fucking stick that made my front wheel go sideways and caused me to drop the bike. I hate that stick right now.

Oh man I hate it when it's a stupid little stick that causes a get off. I got chucked by one the size of a big felt pen once:bluduh. Luckily my outcome was less of a giant bummer than yours. Heal up.

    Having trouble uploading so--

On day two we traded the rt for horses and went on a watefall ride out of cascade locks. Part of the ride was on the pacific crest trail and covered 5000 ft in elevation change. Very fun but riding back the hood river was torture! We saddled up on the rt after dinner for a sunset stop at panorama point. Navy Mom is a great monkey girl and was up for the dirt section up and back to cloud cap. After 24years I think she's a keeper!

Can you go east from LaDee on 4610 and make it all the way through?
Last time I was around there the easterly access was tank trapped and basically inaccessible.

Just rode by there today and was curious about it. I'll be sure to stop in the next time I'm in the area.

Yes you can get thru. Be careful on the bridge.
