I'm hosting 2 ADV riders from South America. One of the bikes needs a tire and the shops are closed. Any of you in the area have a 130/80-17 laying around? We could really use it. Ron 509-969-4999

There's a new cycle gear in Beaverton too. Not convenient to Hood River, but if you don't find anything else, they are another Monday option.

Ran up to Kinzel Lake this past Sunday with some friends. I've been there a few times, and have always been alone at the lake, but this trip there were some hikers that past through on foot. While we are up at the turn around / trail head another couple arrived in their pickup, with plans to hike up to the fire lookout. So much for my private lake. Fun ride, started in Sandy and went up Still Creek, then Kinzel, then down via Cooper Spur and 35 into Hood River. Stopped at Panorama Point off of 35 for the first time in a long time. Perfect weather, not to cold, not to hot, and severe clear.

I always seem to be in hurry when I pass that turn-off...one of these days I need to ride up there. I hear the road is "fun".

Anyone looking for company tomorrow or want to join me for a ride on 4610? After that I don't really have plans and am game for going anywhere.

Enjoyable ride today that included helping two separate lost Subaru drivers and a good conversation with a mellow dude camping at High Rock that I'm pretty sure was winding down from a night on acid.

If you haven't made a trip up to Tumala Mt on 4610 it's well worth the fun ride up. Screenshot_20170730-215445.png IMG_20170730_090403.jpg

It's been too long since I've done 4610,
and Tumala Mt looks like a good addition next time.
And Goat Mt too, right? I think that's the name...

Then hit a little slab to Molalla and take 7010 back to Bagby makes a good loop. AJ you would like the road to Goat Mt and over to Colton.

The bridge should be usable through the summer but this fall it's going to be real dicey when wet. The picture doesn't do it much justice but the west side is getting pretty steep dropping on to the bridge, with my front wheel on and my rear still on the dirt I couldn't touch the ground riding my 640A, plus the little tire width rut on top is starting to not line up straight.

Hi gang, I'd love some recommendations of rides. :clap

Background: 57yrs young, riding 7 months now, about 3k under my belt, all on pavement (so far). I'm not fast, and i'm not slow, so I guess that makes me half-fast. I'm riding a '16 12GS with cast wheels and Anakee 3's on it.

Sunday I get to take off for 3-4-5 days of solo riding, leaving from Seattle. If the heat looks like it will abate, I am thinking of riding around the Hood area. Mostly pavement, but some packed gravel stuff would be fine with me if there will be other "traffic" around. As I would be solo and am pretty much a noob, nothing technical. :muutt

(If it looks like the heat sticks around, i'll just ride around the Olympics)

I plan on taking a tent, but really, I would rather stop at clean, cheap motels along the way. If the sheets are clean and it has a shower, it's good with me.

Lots of rides on this thread! So which might some of you recommend?

    Thanks!

Wow, two weeks of baking temps and this thread went AWOL! And to be honest, I haven't been on the bike for just that reason... :drink

Two weeks since I had ridden last, I'm too old and weak for heat :nod

I had a nice ride in the cooler weather all day yesterday (Sunday) around Godberson and Ketchum roads out of Mosier. I met inmate David on his WR on a steep section of the old powerline road. He's the only vehicle I saw out there all day long. I found the end of almost every road off the powerlines, something that has been calling me for a while now. I didn't take a single pic to share witchas, it was so excellent that I'm keeping that ride aaa-all to myself :1drink
