Have you decided where you'll be this weekend?

Once you get further north I highly recommend jedediah smith near crescent city. I've camped there many times and it's really pretty. :)

….the weather looks like it will be fantastic, high 60's and 0% chance of rain…or at least thats the current 10 day outlook.

Hopefully one or more people will be in the Cambria area around lunch as I was hoping to stop there and eat, then pick one of the many suggested sites up North near San Fran.

Anybody gonna be around either for lunch or at one of the sites camping?

There's a real good chance I'll be around sf Saturday, if I'm not ripping off to the north to see the fall colors. :)

Patrick, we will be camping at the San Simeon State Park Fri. and Sat. nights. This campground is just north of the town of Cambria. We have not made reservations but I can' imagine its full. Maybe in San Luis Obispo Sat. afternoon. There should be four of us on various BMW's and one KTM 990.
    Hope to see ya!

    Hey Yobuddy,
That sounds perfect. I am hoping to be out of LA by 11am or so, so I imagine getting there about 4 or so.
I will be on a 1980 Rust orange RT.
    Looking forward to it.

OK here is an update. Met up with what may have been a band of one time Hells Angels on BMW's and 1 KTM 990.

Camped at the San Simeon camprounds.

Weather could not have been better and the company was just as good.

Discussions included canned oysters and "stainless-steel-hymens".

    Pics of proof.

Thanks guys, you were great hosts and I will do the same in Miami if you ever get this far!

I stayed at that campground during a geology field trip once. We were doing a seismic refraction study on the Piedras Blancas lighthouse, and had tiptoe between the elephant seals to do our mapping. The BLM geologist told us they could rip off an arm if they became agitated, and I think he was serious. Later, we all sat around the campfire drinking beer while the BLM guy sang folk songs and played guitar. Sometimes the under-funded colleges have their advantages. :freaky
