Thank you for the post
The Kurt Caselli thread, with lots of discussion of the article:
Great thread, thanks for sharing.
Kurt fucking caselli. Still cant believe it. What the fuck, man.
Caught a bit of this on ESPN last night. It replays on ABC from 4-5 PM Saturday 12/28.
WORLD OF X GAMES
2013 Baha race. Follows mostly the trophy trucks, but has some mc content, including a bit on Caselli.
ABC ends the show as a tribute to KC and then spells his name wrong? That is real sincerity there...
If you think about it, that isn't surprising given the jive turkey host and the .0001 seconds they showed of moto coverage.
I'm kind of surprised this past weekend's Supercross broadcast didn't mention KC though (unless I missed it).
Eurosport Dakar coverage mentioned KC and showed the KTM team's memorial stickers on KTM riders' bikes.
Thanks to those of you that posted the link to the article. Even though it bummed me out all over again. It's sad to know he was alive for so long after the crash.
I know that this may have already been mentioned here or on another thread or other site but didn't Kurt race some Motocross(not supercross) before he found his niche in off road? And I don't mean when he was a kid I mean AMA national 250 or 450 pro? I was thinking an thought I remember him racing a few rounds/maybe season or two....
Same for Robby Bell I think. Both at motocross ambitions originally as I recall.
At the conclusion of the Moroccan rally last November. One has to wonder what Kurt could have accomplished at this years Dakar.
Thanks for Helping Marc to the finish, mate! See you on the loooong liason.
Likely would've won, just as he would've certainly won in Baja. KTM will never be able to replace him. He was destined for great things.
quite possibly the fastest. there is a theory and a lot of people subscribe but you cant help but wonder what might have been. gone before his time.
I just saw the coverage of the last stage in the 2014 Dakar. Marc Coma won and at the finish line he waited for all the cameras to arrive, put hist fists in the air and pointed at the sticker on his fairing: Caselli 66. So the world would know. Beautiful.
As the commentator explained, the #2 spot was for Jordi Viladoms, on the bike that was reserved for Kurt. Viladoms was planning on participating on a Gas Gas.
Congrats, Marc & Jordi. Godspeed, Kurt.
It was a very emotional moment at the Dakar 2014 finish for Marc Coma and the whole KTM team.
Marc was in tears talking in Spanish about how he had Kurt in his mind many times in the race and how Kurt helped in the race. We was riding with Kurt and they won it for Kurt.
At on the podium, an emotional moment for the team
I saw that too, very emotional Dakar for sure. They were clearly good friends, given how Marc gets along with everyone...and helps other riders with riding tips. He was helping Kurt last year with riding and navigation tips from the sidelines.
Even though the community lost someone like Kurt...Everyone celebrates who he was, his life and love for the sport. and even in loss, we got to thank the big guy upstairs.
Coma seems like a really cool guy. He is even more my hero than before
Does anyone know where to get that sticker Coma was honoring?
Thanks in advance!
