.....Everytime I see this.....
Motorcyclist takes out two cyclists.
Glad it was front page on MSNBC.
Looks like target fixation to me. He seemed to have plenty of room. I have never ridden that road though.
This is why crappy riders hurt the rest of us.
"...investigators think speed was to blame..."
No... A rider who didn't know what he was doing was to blame.
Ah for fuckssake.
Someone ought to send these "investigators" a copy of the video.
Or a link to this thread...
I don't know who this Doohan character is (nor why he finds it necessary to print his name on his leathers), but he'll never be any good as long as he's all crossed up like that.
It was also on The Today Show this morning... Matt wanted to know why someone was there filming to catch the accident and someone mentioned GoPro Camera's...
On the video clip "RickyMouse" was ghosted in the bottom right..
Wow, I thought reporters were suppose to know a little about the clips they were discussing..
that guy should have just veered into the dirt and crashed himself.....that certainly would have been the right thing to do
..and poke his eyes out with a stick seeing as they wasn't doing any damn good..
Speed? really???? Counting bike lengths from the time it seems he reacted to seeing them to hitting them is about 10 bike lengths roughly. Figure 6 ft/ bike. That was 2 seconds. So about 30/sec. Or less bump it up to 35 ft/ sec to be generous. that works out to about 24 MPH.
6ft /bike x 10 = 60 ft
On the taep from the jerk up to impact is about 2 sec
60 ft/2 sec = 30 ft/sec
30 ft/sec x 60 sec/min x 60 min/hr x 1 mile/5280 ft = 20.5 mph
So add a huge fudge factor and call it a massive 30 mph.
arrrgggh.... bad enough he hit the cyclists but blaming it on speed rather than rider reaction is silly.
The right thing to do would have been to go left!!!! Stupid bastard!!! ( Not you, the menace on the M/C)
That you would think this scares me. That you would admit that you so think is beyond belief. The MSM and competence aside from intended distortions to make things out to fit their own agenda doesn't exist.
Matt's a lawyer who thinks he's a reporter.........
I'm on the advertising side of the media business...print media. I don't assume the worst yet it's often confirmed. What's worse than ignorance is lack of common sense combined with politically correct agenda belief based bias..
Open minded is rare... best to garner information from multiple sources to ferret out truth. Most don't put the time into doing that...
I once wrote for a newspaper....
More accurate description.
Well, the guy obviously cant ride. Someone who could would have easily gotten around those bikers. I just figured if he cant ride, he's probably used to crashing.....so....stick to what you know
It's painfully obvious he doesn't know how to ride... He should forget everything he knows, and get some proper training before he kills someone.
or do everybody a favor and never ride again. ill take his SV off his hands....
Reporters generally do know about the clips. Overpaid anchors just read words and try to look good. Lauer isn't a reporter, and hasn't been for almost 30 years.
He could have as easily missed bitumen under the wheels.
