There is a website for the project http://ith.dot.gov.nt.ca

    INTERESTED IN DRIVING THE HIGHWAY?

For those interested in driving on the Inuvik Tuktoyaktuk Highway, please note the highway remains an active construction zone and will not open to the public until November 15, 2017. Unauthorized access is not safe for you or the workers, and can damage the highway surface.

I took the Nahani flight seeing trip out to Virgina falls, it was a 8 hour tour for $600.00.
At first I thought it was expensive but after doing it I have no regrets. If you like to fish buy a licence...the fishing was crazy good every where I went.

Just found this thread. I am heading to Tuk in June 2018 also. I found an article about the road being completed this year, and told my wife that I had to go. Hope to see some of you all up there or along the way.

Haven't set a schedule yet, but I'm planning on riding up to BC, YT, AK, NWT in the mid-June/early July time frame. Of course, I've got a little farther to ride coming from Kalifornia. Haven't been back to the Great North since '86 and didn't make it to Inuvik back then. Want to try Tuk this time. May be able to meet up with you at Dawson City. I'll keep in touch.

I am heading out from Kansas City. I am camping also, weather permitting. I will be heading out about the 9th of June, and hope to be back home by the 4th of July.

I was a scout in the infantry, old school. People would ask why would you do that? It's dangerous, long hours, little sleep, your always cold, wet and smelly. Your risking frostbite, broken limbs, TBI and working around weapons, explosives, huge vehicles that can move 45 - 50 MPH. You risk death and worse. To those people that ask those type of questions we always had the same answer. If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn't understand the answer anyway.

I can't wait to do this ride in conjunction to the trip to Deadhorse.

These people don't get it. They never will. Don't worry about them.

Furthest north I've been is Whitehorse and that wasn't on a bike. Can't wait for next summer!
