So there I was, heading out to the Boxer Shorts Rally at Snow Farm in Williamsburg MA this past weekend, minding my own business on the local roads, when I caught sight of a squirrel coming in from 10 O'clock and making a mad dash under my bike. I didn't feel a bump, but I didn't see him scamper off to safety either. I actually paid the enitre incident no mind at all until we stopped for gas about 120 miles later, and I happened to notice this:

As you can imagine, a two-hour ride on a scaldingly hot exhaust crossover pipe can take its toll on a small woodland creature. It fact, it was not an easy task prying him off of his final perch either, and judging by the expression on (what's left of) his face, that pipe's temperature came as quite a surprise.

So, with the warning that the image below is not for the faint of heart, may I present tonight's special: Cajun Blackened Squirrel ala R1150GS:

See, your bike made you dinner. All it has to do now is fetch you a beer, and then you won't even need a wife.

Like mine medium rare, looks overcooked for me

seriously though, hadn't even thought about it but we use a thing called a hot dogger on the snowmachines to cook or reheat lunch on the pipe to have hot lunch on the trail, works great, there are even competitions for the best hot dogger recipe, I wonder if i can adapt the concept to the bike????? looks to be enough heat to do the job

Just spray a little PAM on the exhaust pipe before you leave home for a ride. :nod

Why red of course. A good Malbec will holdup to Red squirrel better than a Merlot .

Hey Chuck nice to see you yesterday . The show was real good . Could not believe the great turnout .

I:rofl 'll get those Port o Rob decals to you next week.

Not good to be so cavalier, that squirrel was probably an inmate. On the other hand, the shot of the body is to be commended. CSI Woodland Forest couldn't do better.
