This year the Rock Hound Rally will be based out of the Marble Lake Area near Cloyne, Ontario. The event is held out in the woods, on the rocky trails south east of Bancroft, east of CoeHill. There are timed sections for those who are competative, or just treat it as a trail ride. You can camp, trailer, or stay in the cabins. Enjoy the catered meals and night life as we gather for some good fun in the dirt.

    August 24, 25.

Come up on Friday evening, pre-ride meeting at breakfast Saturday morning. Compete in groups of 2 or 3. Your time is entered when the last member of the team comes through the check point. All recreational riders can trail ride the same trail after the competitors have gone in. Ride all day Saturday, come back for dinner, then wait for the sun to go down and do the night section for a couple hours. Sunday morning awards ceremony at brunch.

The Rock Hound Rally 2013 will be hosted out of the Loons Call Campground and Cottage Resort on Marble Lake.www.loonscall.ca
This facility has cottages, tent and trailer camping. Make your reservations at Loons Call by calling them directly at 1-866-765-4756. There will be a corn roast on the Saturday night, or the Marble Lake resort restaurant (2 doors down) will have a roast beef supper and full menu available.
The Event registration is on-line at rallyconnex.com www.rallyconnex.com

Note: we have been getting calls from people who want a dualsport tour as well. We can arrange this as well. There are lots of twisty, scenic back roads in the area that we can make a very nice dualsport route.
The Rock Hound Rally is an aggressive course consisting of rock and wooded terrain. We use as little road as possible to link all the trails together.

The Rock Hound Rally is only 4 Weeks Away. Do you have your team yet?! Have you decided to come out to the Trail ride? Or are you attending the NEW Dual Sport tour?

Well if not, here is some important info you need to know below.

This is a one and a half day rally / trail ride in the Kawartha and Madawaska highlands.

The rides begins and ends at The Loon's Call Campground & Cottage Resort, to book your stay there go to:
    www.loonscall.ca

In order to be well rested for the riding weekend ahead, we recommend that entrants come up and stay Friday night in the beautiful Marble Lake area at The Loon's Call Campground & Cottage Resort. If you require training on basic GPS skills there will be a short seminar on the Friday night at The Loon's Call Campground & Cottage Resort. This is just another reason to arrive on Friday.

    RALLY
Teams of 2 or 3 complete a large loop route throughout the day, covering areas from Cloyne, stretching over to Bancroft. There will be GPS Navigating challenges to collect points for your team’s over all score! Skill testing challenges will be strategically positioned at technical riding areas along the way and free areas along the route. One member of your team must have a GPS and basic knowledge of operation. The free areas will consist of gravel areas, 2-track trail and will leave time for minor repairs, picture taking and relaxing. The event begins early Saturday morning, lasts all day, and returns to the same Lodge that evening for dinner and then a 2 hr night loop.

    TRAIL RIDE
Is an excellent ride if you do not want to be competitive. The entrants who wish to be part of the GPS Challenges during the event will be allowed to head out first. All other non-competitive riders will follow. Treat it like a large GPS guided trail ride if you want. This is also an excellent opportunity for anyone considering an entry into the Dacre Challenge next year. The terrain in the harder section of the Dacre is very similar to that found in the Rock Hound.

    DUAL SPORT RIDE
New this year the Rock Hound Rally will also be hosting a Stock Tire, On-Road friendly Dual Sport Ride. A 50/50 mixture of pavement and gravel roads through some of the most beautiful scenery Southern Ontario has to offer. Fun Challenges and intriguing games will be included in the ride for your chance to win awards and prizes. This is a great ride for larger dualsport bikes or riding two up. So bring your friends and loved ones out for the best Dual Sport Ride of the year!
