Tomorrow morning I'll be head towards Milwaukee on my old GS 550. Kind of excited so I needed post something now! :rofl

Probably not an exciting mud shots or canyon shots but I'll take some picks along the way and share as soon as I can. Taking the scenic route and it sure is a pretty time of year in the Midwest. Count a on few cow pics... just sayin'. Most likely some babes and old bikes too at the show.

This will be my first long trip on two wheels and looking forward to spending time with the road and my thoughts.... yes, I'll stay focused and avoid those slow tractors!

Scott and bg - I'll be at Rockerbox, too. It's a fun show. Plus, it's shaping up to be a good day, weather-wise.

Roy - Just got back from Eagle River. Lot's of wonderful back roads to ride in Vilas County. Or are you in the family cage? Either way, there's a BBQ contest in St Germain today, so get a move on!

This will be my first ADV RR so I hope you enjoy...

Woke up at 6am excited to hit the road for my first visit to "Rockerbox" in Milwaukee. Sun was shining so I loaded up my '79 Suzuki GS 550 and got ready to hit the road.

I guess I'll call my bike "Taz" since the original owner had this painted on it over 25 years ago. Not quite my style but it still looks good after all these years.

I headed south on the WI side of the St. Croix. First stop was in Prescott.

The river road is quite popular for motorcycles and its easy to see why.

I gassed up in Nelson and made a stop in Trempealeau on my way to La Crosse. In La Crosse I had a bit of lunch and fed "Taz" again as well.

I headed East of of La Crosse on Co. Hwy 33 and that road was a treat. I climbed out of the Bluffs in La Crosse into rolling farm country.

Co. Hwy 33 was new to me and gave me the chance to really practice my two wheel skills. Remember, most of my time in the saddle has been driving a hack rig. The constant curves and elevation changes was a blast. Here are a few of the curves when I passed through Wild Cat National Forest.

As much as I wanted to turn around and run thru 33 some more I had to keep riding East. After all this was a trip to the Rockerbox. Time for gas again in Reedsburg. Taz is getting close to 50 mpg.

I headed East on 33 then met up with Hwy 16. Rain clouds appeared to my north and it looked like I met get wet. Made stop in Columbus to cool off and see if the rain would pass by ahead of me.

I saddle back up and headed East and sure enough, I hit the only rain cloud. Made for a good reason to stop and fill up with some petrol.

Rain went by fairly quickly and soon I was on my final stretch into Milwaukee. Before I new it I was parked outside Tahani and John's (my hosts) and ready to relax with family. My boys rode with their Grandparents in a cage and we all happen to be in Milwaukee at the same time.
