    What road is this?
Bonus points for the name of the mountain (out of view, but to the east of the high ridge)?

Headed down to Disappointment Valley with Lone Cone peak being the peak out of the photo. But now I don’t have a photo to share. Someone else. I need to take more photos when I ride.

Disappointment Valley is interesting, especially with the wild horses. I passed through one time but didnt stop during a circle from the south La Sals

I guess that's close enough. Road 526. Belmar is the name of the low mountain to the right. Lone Cone is a bit east of there, or more right.

Here is a map showing 526 and the location of Belmear (not Belmar). The road 526 actually turns west near Belmear and not straight north as shown.

Does anyone else think of David Attenborough whenever they read Doc's posts in this thread? Lol.

No, you are right. Rd 526 goes toward Belmear Peak and turns CCW before you get there (according to the map), so I suspect you didnt veer off anyhow....

If David Attenborough had to find key spots in the countryside of the west to evaluate mineral sources and geothermal regions like I did, he would have done what I do. But mainly these areas are just interesting to me since I am retired and I just want to get going again cruising all over the west.

I'm not knocking your contributions here, I dig it. Moreso if I read them in Mr Attenborough's voice.

    Here is a hint
the highest named vehicle-accessible pass in the state is back around the corner to the right.
