I uploaded some more pics to the Photobucket link. Helena MT to Valley City ND today for 700 miles. I wanted to go for 1000 for my own unofficial Iron Butt, but the darkness, poor visibility and critters running across the road caused me to call it a night

Staying in the cabin after leaving Yellowstone worked out, because due to getting caught in a thunderstorm the night before and then the moisture in the morning air from camping beside a lake meant I had to put away my tent soaking wet. So I used the fan on the air conditioner to dry everything out.

I got up in the morning and headed back into Yellowstone via the Roosevelt Arch. This was the first entrance to the park and since 1903 people have been entering the park passing under the arch, originally in stage coaches.

I saw lots of buffalo on the way out of the park to the Beartooth Highway.

I even had to wait for some to cross the road.

After coming out in Red Lodge I headed for Glacier.

I ended up in a RV park in Conrad MT, run but this delightful lady

She charged me $12 and then brought me a new razor and gum compliments of the chamber of commerce.
After a while she came back by and gave me the wireless key, not bad for 12 bucks a night.

I was impressed with how clear the water was, hopefully these pics show it.

And that pretty much wrapped up the goals I had for the trip. I had thought about heading into Canada, But if I did 500 miles days I was 4 days from home and I like to leave a couple extra days in case I encounter any problems. The bike had been a little slow turning over in the cold mountain mornings, I was bit afraid the battery might be going.[IMG]
I never did see a Griz, or a black bear for that matter.

I made it home tonight. I put in a couple 700 mile days coming home and went through Chicago to make it interesting. I don't recommend you try either.
I will post up some stats from the trip as soon as I get them calculated.

Things I added for this trip:

I don't have a regular waterproof MS GPS, but I bought a RAM mount for my TOMTOM auto GPS and man it was nice having that thing. Not only for navigation, but to let me know how many miles till destination, just a nice thing to have.
I also added a Britannia Composites screen. This allowed me to adjust the screen to shoot the wind up over my helmet.

Things I wished I had tried for the trip:
    LD Comfort shorts
Some sort of cruise control or even a cramp buster.

Those are some long days! I averaged 400 per day on my last trip and that was about perfect. Nice pics!
