The laurel is really starting to bloom here in central PA.
I haven't been seeing many deer. The doe's should be having their fawns I would think.
Never know what you will see.
Overlook on Wampler Road.
It's one of the few (that I know of) unmaintained roads that is still open to vehicles in Rothrock SF.
I stopped at Whipples Dam before heading home:
I need to work on my night time pics.. Couldn't get the moon to show detail:
Rockinrog, have you had a chance to see any of the Norfolk Southern anniversary locomotives yet? The Pennsylvania Rail Road one came through town the other day on it's way to Strasburg. I only saw pictures and it looks pretty neat.
No I haven't and your right it looks cool.
I got out for a ride today, mostly in Bald Eagle State Forest. I was about 15 mile from home before I realized I had forgotten my camera. So only sell phone pics from today.
I was cruising along and saw this little thing standing along the road about 3 feet from my tire. I got stopped and walked back and he was doing what nature has programmed him to do...Lay down and don't move.
I knew Mom wouldn't be far off, so i snapped a few pics and moved on.
So cool you got a pic of the fawn that close!
Saw a fellow mowing a big field of grass on Saturday,,, wondered about those little fellows hiding in there,,,, like you said, they don't move, and with tall grass, they don't get seen until it's too late.
I saw these this weekend, wasn't on the bike but thought I'd throw them in anyway.
great shots, I love that area and try to get out there often, riding and camping, and also flyfishing, a friend has a place on penns near weikert. penns roosevelt is a great place to camp, and I always stop at the Elk Creek in Milheim for a brew!
I have never camped at Penn Roosevelt, but it seems like a nice quiet place to camp...Its a shame they won't fill the lake anymore.
