Yes that's exactly what I mean. It was a long day before it started.
I won't lie, I am mostly bored of the vw, and with the type of hours I work and commitments with family, I don't like having a car with endless project possibilities sitting in my garage with.no time or resources to work on it. I think a hot hatch, especially a less common one will leave me more satisfied with the way it is. My old (clean stock) 80 rx7 made me very happy just as it is, and so does my buell. The bug, I see a subaru ej swap, disc brake conversions, comfort upgrades ect. It doesn't help that the bug I used to daily as a kid had all the comforts of stopping well, going better, listening to music ect...
I have some large ammo can panniers, and racks for a klr.
Need some time to straighten them and fix some welds.
That is where it went.
Pm'd. Headed on a trip this weekend
BuilderScott you are a worthy disciple of Blakebird!
Hey, I bought that DRZ waaaaay back in March.
I have an XR600r I am outfitting for a 2800mi CO. loop in Sept.
Im looking especially for anyone that has a decent set of pannier mounts. I use ORTLEIB soft bags, and just need something to keep them from collapsing the plastics.
I wil order the Dirt Bags version again but it broke last time so looking for something more stout.
If any inmates have the Acerbis 5.8 for the xr600r in new or excellent condition let me know. Must have mounts and be ready to go.
Please PM me.
Thx, Gun 4 hire
Yea, Sure Scott.
I still haven't got that check. are you sure you put it in the mail? I mean the avatar is all ready to go and everything.
It is a long shot but I got lucky last time I posted here so I'll give it a shot, I bought these:
Race Tech Fork Springs .48 kg/mm FRSP 395148 KTM
Item # 190803505729
They for a set of forks off a 2001 KTM EXC 300 but fit quite a few models 2002 and older it appears, even some old CRs and KX's according to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Race-Tech-F...ies&fits=Make:KTM&hash=item3ccea38692&vxp=mtr
They are a little soft for the TransAlp I put them on and if anyone is game, I would love to trade my 48's for 50 or 52 kg/mm springs.
I also have the stock springs just setting there if someone wants them, I'm guessing they are around 34 kg/mm but I don't know for sure and they are not marked.
If you are interested please PM me.
I just moved here but long story short, I have a KTM that broke right before my yearly motorcycle vacation so I bought this, rode it for 4 days/600 miles, and then found out I was moving back to Colorado and starting a new business so it's been sitting ever since and I imagine I won't have much time to ride; thus I'm conceding that I probably should sell this very new to me S1000RR.
I'm very picky with my bikes and this one is in immaculate condition with 3,443 miles. The original owner was very particular and a very cautious rider. Sadly enough, this bike has never been to the track.
I'm sure you can Google all the raving magazine reviews but this is the bike you need. 2012 is the first year with the new chassis geometry and revised electronics so if you're considering an S1000RR, you need the 2012 or 2013.
The bike is 100% stock (with optional heated grips) and comes with the remainder of the factory 3 year\36,000 mile warranty. I have service records as well as the manual\spare keys\etc. The bike currently has the OEM Continental Attack Tires on it which have a reasonable amount of life left (~40% tread life on the rear, ~70% on the front).
Test rides are available with cash in my hand; if you break\damage\scratch it, etc, you bought it. The bike is in Denver, CO.
I have looked this bike up and down and the only thing I can find is a screw for the windscreen fell out somewhere during the past 600 miles; I have one on order and it should be here in the next few days. Otherwise, this bike is PERFECT. If you want the best, this is it.
I have the title in hand and it is clean and clear with no liens.
Sorry, apparently a lot of people are looking at it and I hit my photobucket bandwidth limit for the month. You can see the pictures here - http://s1362.photobucket.com/user/big_sur1/slideshow/S1000RR
I haven't been in a BMW dealership in years, but my god, that is a beautiful bike!!
That bike is awesome.
merickk, I am not trying to buy your avatar so no check in the mail this week for you.
And on the S1000RR, you will put your eye out with that thing (or at least your license). DAMHIK: Fantastic bike.
least you could have done was wash it and make a half-hearted attempt at detailing it before you posted pics.......
And higher resolution.
I'm not in any way, shape or form looking for a crotch rocket/thinly disguised race bike and I want one of those!!
No final drive to blow up on that baby!
I just got back from the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum so am still a bit jaded when it comes to fine machinery, but.. DAMN! That's one fine piece o' BMW azz! (Luckily, my 2012 K13S is still giving me many thrills per mile )
Thinly disguised???? That there's one lean, mean, track-eating machine!
