Well, we are a bit late getting info out about RTB4 and for that I apologize. We have severed ties with the Circle T and the hunt for a new venue has been interesting to say the least. Circle Ts new owners have ruled NO Fires and raised the event fee through the roof! My plan was to keep us fairly close to our area but open up new roads and routes for us. After extensive research in Hamilton county, I was not able to locate a suitable venue. We then looked at Bosque and Somerville counties. We approached the new owners of Loco Coyote about possibly doing event there based on some planning by owners. It became obvious that they will be unable to accommodate us at this time. I then looked at Meridian State Park but they do not allow alcohol and I know this pose a problem for some. I then looked at Lake Whitney parks but found out all of them are scheduled to be closed due to sequester. SOG and I decided Whitney had potential as fer as routes go so we continued to search the area. Did y'all know it is the vacation capital of Texas ? I had no clue how many cabin and lodge rentals were on the lake. After finding a likely venue, I called members of the executive disorganizing committee to meet me at a non disclosed location to evaluate the venue. After traveling through the biggest ghetto trailer park on the lake, we arrived....I met the manager and we toured the facility with SOG and TxJames to follow. Lets just say I never knew they did glamor shots for these places!!! Holes in the sealing sewer water running out and most rooms smelt like a New Orleans dive. I think the clincher for me was when the manager offered up that they use their facility for NA meetings twice a week. After looking at the staff I have an idea where employees were recruited. Yes, james NA meetings...he still thinks Tom made that up....we meet Hasbeen at lunch an evaluate Thousand Trails....nice but not enough cabins. I return to work and resume search on Internet. About 5 SOG calls claiming to have found the holy grail of rally spots. Funny, i had the website for the place up when he called me and was about to call on it. I haul ass back to Whitney and meet up with SOG at Little Rocky Creek Lodge. Did not take long to work out details and shazam we have a rally venue. We have booked the whole facility! We will lock the gates and be a commune right SOG. Oh my bad...he did not inhale. I still have to sort out the room options so we will be posting all of that in a few days. To make this work, I have taken everything and will be handling all reservations for the event so do not call the lodge. You folks will like this...very clean and right on the lake

Nice rooms. Tent camping with a view. Bonfire. Catering kitchen. Pool table. RV hookups. Great owner who is a bike enthusiast originally from the Czech Republic. Clean, secure, convenient. C store, package store, restaurant , gas 2 miles or less.
And we don't share it with anybody .
    This is gonna be great.

Oh, and we don't have bad things to say about our previous venue. Loved the time there but it was time to move on. And simply put this venue better meets the needs of the rally.

I haven't been able to attend this since the first one.

Count me in. Is it too early to ask for a single cabin?

Yup. D'Artagnan. Early folks have to bunk with ghost. In a single bed. I'd wait for other options. RTB cares. ;)

We'll have ways to hook them together but yes. There will be new routes. Veriest is already working on a Laguna Park to Loco Run to the Ribs. In fact, it might be finished.

I'm hoping mudclod can find a way to hook some of his recent Palo Pinto Brazos River stuff into a mostly dirt route. You can rest assured that I will be asking. His dirt loop was a giant hit last year.

Ah, the annual posting of the RTB thread. It's my favorite time of the forum year.
Almost, except now it won't be leaving from Laguna Park. I just picked the park because it was in the vicinity of where we were looking to host the rally.

This will be a route for the big dual sports (think 1200 GSA and Super Tenere) to show off their Swiss Army Knife versatility. It will run alongside the Brazos River for a large chunk of the route and it has sections where the biggest of dual sports can stretch their highway legs, run high speed gravel, and then bob and weave like a sport bike through some of the twistiest pavement in the area.

While the big katooms would have fun a 19" front tire is choice for this ride. That isn't just for the dirt either because some of the "pavement" is pretty bad to. I even found a new 5" deep pothole along the route this afternoon.

Uhh. I'm confused. Laguna Park is Rally HQ. The mailing address is Clifton but the location is Laguna Park. ;)

Oh, I see what your saying.

The track I sent you left from an actual park on the lake that we won't be leaving from now.

Google is saying my route takes almost 5 hours to run. I know that's not right.
