I added one more route to the share drive to help riders get back from Mary's a little quicker. There isn't much difference in distance but it should save a decent amount of time. Chalk Mountain was cut which I don't like but if it's getting late and you have to get home then there isn't much choice.

Th new file is called: RTB8-RallyRaid_Route_Short.gpx

Most likely your Garmin is "optimizing" the route and kicking you back onto paved shortcuts.

My Garmin will always want to reroute if the route was made on different maps. You will have to retrace the route and make your own route then reload it.

Recently signed up and can't find the Dirty Raid GPS file on the website. Is it supposed to be emailed?

Does anyone have the route that was created with a Garmin map? Kind of a PITA really...

I recommend anyone having issues with the routes use a track instead. That's what I typically use anyway. It just plots a line on the map without any directions.

I was about to say that. Just load a track instead of a route and you should not have any problems.

Cody got a flat 4 miles from the end. Rich pulled out his Baja no pinch took, I think he sold about 8 units. Had the tire mounted in 45 seconds.

The Roll The Bones Rally was a lot of fun. Started out at Brad’s sand class, then on to the Dirty Raid route. Steve (on a KTM 500 EXCF), Colby (on a XR400) and I (on a CRF450X) did the route backwards (because that’s just natural for some of us). The weather was cool at first then warmed up to the mid 90s. We did a total of 205 miles, which is pretty good for being on plated dirt bikes. All three of us broke something. Luckily just bike parts: Colby’s choke lever spring disappeared (zip tie fix), Steve’s rear fender fell off (duct tape and zip tie fix), and my GPS mount shattered when I fell off in the sand (zip tie fix). All in all it was a good ride.

The photos of before Saturday's ride at Uncle Gus' and the three stooges at the old bridge over Richland Creek (slightly off the Dirty Raid route).

Another one in the books...Hope all had fun...I am thinking of moving the venue if you have suggestions, please advise....also, some have complained of timing of this event...Traditionally we have stayed in October...usually last full weekend of October...What is the pulse of the groupl for going back to that or a different weekend in October???
