It was such a pretty day that I did a little garage sweeping / rearranging.

It gave me a good excuse to play with everyone's motorcycle! :evil

Who doesn't love looking at motorcycles? I mean, really? :D

It was a good day. I got some work done, met some new people, and got to play with motorcycles! Life is good! :clap

F800GS racks fully welded and tabs dressed up with a 60 grit flapwheel.

Everything reassembled to check for warpage.

I really like how those top tabs turned out.

Let me know when you have time. If I can coordinate with Jim, could leave it there for a bit! :thumb

Don't know if you were asking me or Kirkster, but I will go ahead and answer :D

Going for the raw aluminum look, with flat tops with the footman loops. Similar to the bags below, but with the exhaust side cutout and a bevel on only the bottom outside edge.

Good grief, they look voluminous as hell...maybe an optical illusion arising from the black color...

Looks good, I cringe every time I see critical mounting points like that made by just hammering the tube flat.

    Cheers

They are pretty big! Much bigger than my old Jesse's!

Here are a couple inside shots.

    Thanks, Jim!

Rustoleum Industrial gloss enamel. Pretty tough stuff and easy to touch-up.

I used the same paint on my original KLR racks from almost 3 years ago and it still looks very good with zero touch-ups.

I thought it must be that considering the speed of your powder coater!:lol3

Looks great though, and is probably plenty tough enough.
