I just got off the phone with a guy at BestRest Products, the makers of the PegPacker, and he told me that they're going to be selling just the passenger peg bracket replacement part of their product, i.e., without the aluminum bracket, shelf, and fuel container, soon. Should have details up on their web site in about a week.

The passenger peg replacement assembly would seem a pretty ideal place to mount a couple of 1 gal. Rotopax containers. They would mount down low, would fit nicely in front of your panniers, and would be tucked in tight to the frame so that they wouldn't snap your tibia if you find yourself paddling in sand. Depending on what they come up with, I'm thinking this is the way I'm going to go on my F800GS.

Hey guys - no problem at all posting the photos here. I'm new at the forum games and I didn't want to violate any cross posting rules (I've been scolded before for other transgressions and I'm a sensitive guy:(: ).

When I wrote the post above I thought that the two photos would appear rather than their links because I pasted the BBC code for the links, but it didn't seem to work.

I'm glad the photos can help!

Rob: The velcro was just to reduce a slight shimmy in the container. The koplin twist lock works well, but the container can move 1/2 inch or so because the hole in the container is larger than the koplin twist lock. After riding it a bit I think the velcro isn't needed. It came with the container so I thought I'd use it.

Appears that they've fixed the leaking problems that the old Kolpin containers were known for.

I did not. Emerson Bigguns actually did and I think he is still working on this one. In the meantime I mounted up some ATV tank saddlebags and will use some plastic army canteens.

If EB comes up with a mount that goes under the Dirt Bagz, I'll probably investigate it. Check out the wr250r thread in Thumpers for more info on this one. :thumb

I'm all over the 1gal as well! I have been looking for these for a while, but had no idea what they were called or who made them! glad I popped into Vendors this evening.

Poked around the his website as well and even the first aid paks are pretty good too! - great for sticking them in the trailer or trunk!

I'll be subscribing to this thread watching for the 1gal release.

I've asked Jason (from RotoPAX) for an update on the 1-gallon containers as well as the possibility of doing a special run in Orange. I'll let you know when I here back...

I got this email from Jason today.

Me: "Any time estimate on when you will have your 1-gallon gas pack available?"

Jason: "I am hoping very soon. Check back with me on Friday."

So if you've been waiting for the one gallon version, keep your eyes on their website.

Just put my order in with Jason. He expects to start shipping next week.:D

Ordered a single one gallon. I will see if I can put it on my 1200GS in place of the passenger pillion without having to buy an alluminum deck to protect the plastic. It might ride well on those rubber inserts.
