I'm stoked. It might be shorter then I wanted, but It promises to be pretty epic. I will have to remember how to travel with other people again :rofl

Noah, just a quick note to say thanks for your great travelling spirit, and for taking the time to post such great photos and script. I followed FishFund's ride report in '10 and it saved me from going crazy while attending school and being a bit house and town 'bound. Now, I am following yours while working on my Masters degree - it is also keeping me sane while stuck in the big city of Toronto. Ride safe in Morocco. Fair winds and following seas.....

Reading that story about Marco going to Berlin to eat Nutella after The Wall fell...that's what doing a trip like this is all about, those human connections into someone's life, you can never get that sitting at home, priceless. :D

I met a lady a few days ago who grew up in West Berlin. She said she remembers the "stinky cars" from the east side after the wall fell. This all makes sense that its a 2 stroke. :lol3

Sony NEX-5. I quite like it. I have the 18mm and the 18-55mm lens. Unfortunately I was not able to make it into Norway and Sweden this trip. If there is a round 2 I will for sure get there. :D

    Nevermind...

Found it on Wiki.. (and then I saw the link on the bottom of your quote, duh)

"The Trabant was a steel monocoque design with roof, bootlid/trunklid, bonnet/hood, bumpers/fenders, and doors in Duroplast. Duroplast was a hard plastic (similar to Bakelite) made of recycled materials: cotton waste from the Soviet Union and phenol resins from the East German dye industry, making the Trabant the first car with a body made of recycled material.[6] The results of some crash tests showed it performed better than some contemporary Western hatchbacks.[9][10][11] The Trabant was the second car to use Duroplast, after the "pre-Trabant" P70 (Zwickau) model (1954–1959)."
