In the event you are still around to read this, I want to apologize for loading up on you last night. What you did yesterday represented everything that caused me problems last year during my group buy. I knew it would occur and even warned kltk1 to be prepared for it before he even decided to take this on.

At any rate... You came back with your line of thought and ultimately wished the effort well and I should have left it at that. If kltk1 has you on the list now, I hope you see it through and get a nice seat for your bike at a great deal.

Not taking your advice to kiss your ass here, just acknowledging the fact that I can sometimes be one.

Good morning everyone. As of 10:30 this morning all PM's have been recorded and answered. I'm incredibly happy to report we're at 116 on the list! We should be VERY happy about that. Thank you to everyone who's on the list for spreading the word....

I'm heading out for the day and probably won't get back to this today. I'll catch up tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone and ride safe!

Just did a ride in appt yesterday for my klr. Rode 200 miles home. Most wonderful. A Day long seat will be the best money you've ever spent on your bike! The people at Russel are really wonderful. Took a tour through their workshop. A first class outfit.

I'm also going to get in on this to see where it goes. I caught word on r3owners.net, but this is the seat I've been eyeing!

Took your advice, raised the bike back to stock and took out some pre-load. Rides like a completely different bike, much more fun now.

How do you like the velour? Does it act like a sponge in the rain?

FWIW, I also have velour. I like it a lot. I use outdoor Scotch Guard on mine and haven't had trouble in rain. I don't ride in rain much, but the few times I have it hasn't been bad.

Thanks, I saw Laconic's in person and that velour looks like it would feel great.

The velour has always interested me, but I have been afraid to go with it. Have you seen any sun bleaching on your velour material since you bought it?

Nice that you got it sorted out. Don't want the cook to be uncomfortable...

I keep the rain cover (comes with the new seat) on the seat if I'm riding in the rain and keep it covered when the bike stays out at night. I expect it would soak up water if it got rained on.

I think the velour is better than vinyl or leather for hot weather.

Here's the seat and backrest I got on last year's group buy, installed on my ancient Goldwing. Graphite vinyl, dual, large rectangle. Just got back from a 4500km/10 day 2-up ride and had no comfort problems that could be blamed on the seat.

If left out in the sun A LOT, yes, it will gray on you. Can't imagine it isn't anything that couldn't be prevented with some 303 sunblock.

I think I'm going to stick with the leather on the Hog, but if I ever get me the adventure bike I've always wanted it will see a velour seat. I can't decide between the small diamond pattern (like the first gallery image on the RDL Harley page, only not red, no rivets and no awful embroidery) or the half moon stitch pattern I had on the Voyager.
