I remember very well getting saved by Doug and company in the middle of NM forest one time pushing a rather heavy dirt bike at least a good part of a 1/4 mile mostly uphill:shog

Freaking sucks leaving your bike ditched in the woods:deal Second time for me now, once in Panama and once in NM here:

I'll be more than happy to help you out where ever I can. Good luck man:clap

Glad to hear you're getting that beast sorted out. I'd love to be with you along on this adventure put I've got plans with the knife man to get some iron removed from my leg.

You might just run into A Lewis are your way West, he should be headed East later this summer, think he is working on all or parts of the BAM on a dizzer.

    See you around amigo:freaky

We camoed that bike so well, you need to tell people it's next to you.

I guess that's the Saint Adam Lewis I met in San Cristobal,Mx. I promoted him to sainthood when he loaded my GPS with his S.A. maps.I'd still be down there lost without his help.

Originally I was going to finish in Portugal.I don't know if the Netherlands will be my final destination or not. I plan to visit Meijel,Netherlands.During WWII someone met my father (deceased) in Ospel. They contacted me several months ago for information. I want to meet and visit a while.

That's a great reason to go there.

My dad used to work at Foz with Larry. Larry told dad who told me about the trip. Looking forward to following along. Best of luck,

I've been trying to encourage Larry to retire and enjoy some of this riding with me.I don't think he will ever ride with me again.Several years back we went riding in Hocking Hills.I divorced my bike and did a chest plant. He said I was out about 10 minutes.:muutt

If you want to visit Amsterdam let me know, it's a 20 minutes drive from my place. Meijel/Ospel is a 1.5 hour drive from here but its real nice there.

Anyway have fun, luck and be carefull. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I have been to busy to look at ADVRIDER the last 10 days.Ive had fuel problems.First I found a small piece of rubber in my needle jet, that caused it to stick open or closed. Then I found the new inline fuel filter I installed wouldn't allow enough fuel to pass to the carburetor unless the tank level was high enough to push it through. I guess it was made for a car that had a fuel pump. Anyway, I got it running again.I straped on my spare tires and went to bed.Over night I thought it was too much to carry.I decided to take the front tire only.I will need to put it on in Vancouver.Thr rear tire I will buy when I get to Korea.Thats where they are made anyway.

I left Saturday morning and went 100 miles and stopped for gas. When I hit the starter button, nothing happened. I checked the voltage and had 12.0 and 5.1 cranking.Thats when Mike Ralston offers to help.He let me hold on to his truck to bump start it.I went to Walmart and let them check the battery. If it was a charging system problem I would be in big trouble. All road shops were closed till Tuesday because of the holiday.Luck for me it was just the battery. 3 hours wasted, but Im on the on the road again.

I road 533 miles to Williamsburg, Iowa. All rain once I got to Illinois.Sunday I road 786 miles to Spearfish, South Dakota. Again, mostly rain.I have 2 more long days to get to Vancouver.Wednesday my bike gets crated. And Friday me and the bike take separate flights to Korea.

Glad you're problems are being sorted where there is a Wally world on every corner. Let's hope when you crate it they all dissapear. :lurk Watching this one with toes and fingers crossed.

You take what they got.No AGM this time. But then it was my expensive Yuasa AGM that let me down-3 years old.I was too tired to mention it last night, but my new LED supplement lights also failed after 2 days.I told my wife the swivel brackets looked flimsy. When my regular low beam burnt out, I thought I would try the LEDs.One was pointing straight down and hanging by the wire. The other had 1 broken bracket.I graduate d from duct tape.I use Gorrilla tape. They are hanging nicely from ths fender now. When I figure out getting pictures to my new tablet/ phto bug Ill share the current modification.

After telling my wife the first 100 miles was decent weather, I drank my words.10 minutes later the clouds opened up.It hailed for 10 minutes. There was water standing on the road. Then it just drizzled for a few hours. I'm at a Motel 6 tonight.
In Missoula, Montana.Tomorrow should be a short day of about 600 miles. Almost a rest day.

I started in Missoula, MT and stopped in Spokane Valley, WA . I had lunch with my snow bird friends, Glenn and Ginger. Then I rode north of Seattle to a Walmart. As I left, I heard a depressing sound. An intermittent metallic sound, I found a loose clamp on my left pannier.I tightened it up and got on I-5.I heard it again as I got on the entrance ramp.Luckily there was a sign for the rest area 1/4 mile. When I got there I saw my chain was a little loose and there was some wear on the rear sprocket. They didn't seem bad enough to be the problem. My oil was also slightly below the low mark.I knew that the last time I got gas.I had used a quart since leaving home.I didn't want to add any, since I was going to change it at the end of the day.I put on my spare chain and rear sprocket and added oil to the engine. When I rode it through the parking lot, all was quiet. I'm back on the road, but very concerned.

I was planning to ride to Bellingham, so Wednesday would be a short ride to Pacific Motorsports-the dealer that was going to crate my bike. Then I saw a sign saying the I-5 bridge was closed.A truck hit it and both directions collapsed.I stopped and ate to wait for traffic to clear.I got to Bellingham about 11pm.And once again, no Wi-Fi.

This morning I changed my oil and put my new front tire on.Then it was about a 30 minute ride to the Canadian border. The crossing toke 10 minutes. When I arrived at the dealer, the service man asked if I got his e-mail yesterday. He said they did not have any pallets. "But I told you I would be here". Then Rusty, they crate man, came to the rescue. He said he would uncrate a new bike, and use that crate. And he would have me crated by the end of the day. Great service. He also let me dump my used oil and old tire. Then he had one of their guys drive me in to Budget, 20 minutes away, so I could pick up my rental car.

I was now in search of a hotel. It seems a lot easier in the USA.but I finally found one. He promised the Wi-Fi would work in my room. Well, after getting a shower, I tried it. It didn't work. I complained enough that he finally gave me a refund. Then I wasted an hour and a half finding another room. Well, I'm here, I'm tired, and I have a lot to do tomorrow.
