Two of us will be riding in the Big Bend and Hill Country areas this March. I am looking for a campground or campgrounds to use when exploring. We will be riding out of the RV on street bikes, Versys 1000 and an Interceptor. Two or three day trips are doable but I need to get back to my wife and dogs on a regular basis. We are looking for twisties and scenery as well as local color.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Fredericksburg is a good center spot to ride from , everything you want in a town and good riding in all directions . A friend owns the biggest rv park in town on the south side between 87 and 16 or lady Byrd Johnston state park out by the airport on 16 are both nice places .lots of other small places out in the sticks but no experience with any of them . Big Bend would be an overnite right but there's some kick ass riding both ways as long as you stay off the interstate . Hi 163 is one of my favorites .

Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in Lajitas, TX is a great place to Stay in your RV. Total class act. Nice swimming pool and can use the Resorts amenities. As far as Frederiksburg, Tx I like Lady Bird Johnson Park by the airport on the south side of Fred. Kerrrville also has some great RV parks and closer to great riding. The KOA outside Fred, is on the road to Luckenbach. MUST go to see and drink a cold TX Beer.

I got back from kerrville/Fredericksburg yesterday. We stayed at the Kerrville KOA. Very quiet, but kind of in a out of way location. Smaller campground.
