What came in first John, kayak?
Yeah, a high performance yak, those guys really fly. It took me 59 minutes to do 4 miles and the fastest yaks did 8 miles in 1:15. They don't look too comfortable, the paddlers were wearing spandex and fit in the yaks like gloves. There were also some out rigger canoes that were quick. Hell some of them had 2 paddlers in the boat.
We've been up here for about 6 weeks now. Haven't had much time for riding but that should change.
All the major work is done on the house (well/HVAC/gas/etc.) Driveway guys are working on fixing the mud pit this week. Hot tub should be in next week.
On weekends it's almost like being at the track for a motorcycle race. Bikes go flying by the house on US-28. Willy and Stormy were here last week and he cleared out a spot by the road to sit and watch the races...
Give us a yell if you're in the area.
Post some pics
I need a Willy and Stormy fix myself
I'm in the area...
Thinking we just need to plan an event at John and Amber's place in NC
Preferably when they're there
Monday has become my yard work day
I feel like DataDaddy on Sunday morning at Rebel Yell after experiencing Red Death for the first time
Do one thing and then sit and rest for a few minutes
It's swelteringly humid this morning
And I've been dragging tops of dead trees off
Ones that I cut before last week's weather
Rather than hauling the rider from The Swamp
I've been using my little push two-smoker to mow the yard here at the house
Guess I'll be the last to actually have four-stroke small lawn equipment
I hate to brag on it but my 1981 Stihl weed-wacker is still running strong
And with the price of the commercial models these days
I'm really not looking forward to having to buy a new one
In Sunday's papers there were coupons for $3 off meat and $2 off produce
Just used ten dollars worth on 99 cent/lb chicken thighs and $3/lb mushrooms
Got quite the haul for little dough
Back to staying with my dad
Had to kick his full time helper to the curb yesterday morning
Sorry to hear that Alan....I am in Il checking in on my mother. She is losing her eye sight. She has been in the same house 65 years so would be a problem for her to go elsewhere. Lucky my sister lives and works close. Hard call to make on a full time care giver.
I hear ya Paula
Met with a couple yesterday
He was my dad's physical therapist
She's willing to stay here occasionally
They're going to stay with him this coming WE
And then line-up and oversee his help
Much better than me being the only boss
This way if I'm out of town for a few days
At least somebody is here to straighten out whom ever is actually staying with him
I thought that my thumb drive was gone for good but it apparently it has done two washings and a couple of trips through the dryer.
The drive held up well, that end I did not expect.
All is good
Colorado, Grand Mesa? If not, looks a lot alike.
Dante's View in Death Valley. I had taken a series of pictures to stich into as a panoramic view but they didn't join so well.
Just have to do it again and maybe get it right the next time. I had been advised to ignore certain off road parts of the park due to the heat and traveling alone. Who knows, one of these days maybe I'll find a riding partner up for a winter ride.
Shoot, if I had the vacation time, I'd take a couple of weeks and do the Barstow to Vegas ride Thanksgiving week and then take a ride through Death Valley.
IN once I get fired and have the time
The shit that I almost post. Amazing shit that would be considered conspiracy but I consider humorous. Bless me.
Enjoy the wedding, and don't puke on the bride unless you have to.
