    Typical for me...

    Hi Jack,

Thank you for your order! Unfortunately, we do not currently have the rear rack in stock, as it is not a normally stocked item. We can, however, special order it for you at no additional cost. Special orders usually take about 3-4 weeks to become available and are non-refundable. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with the order!

I use an Exped Orion III. It's self supporting so no stakes needed to keep it pitched.
I like Exped gear, as so far everything has been great.

As of about noon today I should have some control over my own life at least until 8:30 next Monday morning.

I did but some shit is going on and I'm not sure yet how that is going to play out.

They bought a new house that looks like a less stressful ride as far as getting there (no Ca. interstate). Karen will be out for the holidays, shit I may just smoke up some Bologna or Sardines, maybe both.

I had sold off a bivy style tent to another member a few years back. I actually liked it but didn't need it. This year I realized I had way too many tents so I sold off my Catoma 2-Up Rider tent, ThermaRest pad, and a nice big Hillary while I was up at the O/S Rally in Tellico Plains this Fall. I think I'm down to just two now unless I'm overlooking one somewhere. And one is my go-to Hillary I bought in 1969 or 1970. Only had to reseal once and it has the least condensation of any tent I've owned - except that time in Tellico Plains it got so cold my breath turned to snowflakes inside the tent. :D

What I need to do is send my tent back to the mfg and get the window replaced with solid fabric

Have to admit I'd really like to have one of those Exped tents though

    Like the free-standing option

I love free standing tents. The two man I use is a Coleman peak 1 something something that’s had a substancial amount of use, and I’ve only staked it out one time in S. FLA when the wind was stout. Was talking to some folks over the weekend about it, and I wouldn’t mind replacing it with something exactly like it when the time comes. To me that says a lot about it’s functionality.

Here's a pic of those crazy Ural fookers from Europe on their way down to our camp area in the swamp

Need to have a campout there sometime

It's a mile behind the last gate and

Only a few hundred yards from the Gulf

Before you send the tent back, make sure that the fabric around the old window is still strong enough and not weakened from UV. It would suck to have only one piece of strong fabric in the old tent...:photog

That big tunnel tent I had only required 4 stakes to keep it pitched however, it is always a good idea to stake out your tent regardless wether it needs them or not. The weather can always change in a heartbeat and you may find your tent in a different zip code...
