That's cool, do you have gps coordinates? I live in Miami around here is nothing. Closest place to ride would be around seminoles reserve about 90 miles away, need a new spot!

venus is south of lake placid off hwy 27 but i dont use gps. the area used to be part of a curvy paved 200 mile loop i rode on sportbikes, but i discovered many very cool dirt roads after i got the klr a couple years ago.

dixie dual sport also has some pretty awesome dirt routes available on their site too, and some (all?) of them have gps

Hey there all you old timers in SW Florida. How about an old fashion Timekeepers Enduro.

The Turkey Tort IX will host a Timekeepers Mini Enduro on Saturday morning. A short and sweet ride with route sheets and 24mph time. Check points will score early and late points for those that dont keep on time. If you have ever wondered what enduro time keeping is all about this is your chance.

We will still have the normal DS, ADV and Street only rides.
Last year we had just over 100 riders. Come up and join the fun.

that sounds like a LOT of fun, and i started wanting to ride an enduro years ago when i was still racing mountainbikes.

im older and, well, more brittle now. not a lot of real trail experience although ive ridden on pavement for decades. riding a beloved bike that nevertheless may not be excellent at delivering inexperienced me safely to the finish line.

i think theres a few people out there in my position. how do we fare in first time enduros? triumphant joy? the agony of uninsured hospital stays??

anybody have personal experiences on this?

The Turkey Trot and the Mini Enduro are NOT difficult. This is not a challenging ride but meant to be FUN. The Mini Enduro is less than 50 miles of easy two track and roads. The idea is to stay on time and not be early.

We will have one for Adventure bikes also that is designed for the big girls.

Just fun and hopefully no pain involved.
